Do you have a pet or two? An eel? A camel? An angelfish? Does it bark? Does it meow? Do you even know what noise your pet makes?

My family use to own a cat that was quite young. Of course, his name was Shorty. I can’t tell you anything about him because I owned him so many years ago so I don’t remember anything about him.

On Saturday, my family went to Port Hardy to buy a hamster for my little sister, Elizabeth.

We all went into the pet store and looked into three, fair-sized, glass, fish tanks all pushed together. The one to the left, I don’t remember what kind of hamster it held. The middle one held cambell dwarf hamsters. The one to the right contained the biggest hamsters I’ve ever seen, teddy bear hamsters. Elizabeth wanted either a black and white teddy bear hamster because it was really soft and fluffy or a white cambell dwarf hamster with light red eyes because it was beautiful, smooth and friendly.

My mom asked the lady behind the counter “Is the white cambell dwarf hamster more friendly than the black and white teddy bear hamster?” and she said “Yes. I used to own her.” so while mom bought the hamster the other lady was catching our new pet.

On the way home, I helped Elizabeth name the hamster. We ended up naming her Angel. When we got home and opened the little box Angel was in, we got a little surprise. Half of Angel’s box’s floor was covered in hamster poo!

I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Do you have a pet or two? A guppy? A goldfish? A whale? Does it need to be trained? Do you want it trained? How trained is it already?

In February 2010, when my family and I lived down in Courtenay, my mom and I were talking about birds and how the family liked them. I suggested buying one.

” Maybe tomorrow.”said my mom. The next day, we went to Pet Land to buy a bird. We looked at buggies ( buj-ies ) and parrots. ( pair-ots ) My mom chose a male buggie with a blue body and a white head and wings. She named him Lary. Once Lary was picked up with a cloth by one of the workers to be caught, he spread his wings and floated to the ground. He waddled around, looking for a hiding spot. Then, the workers caught him, placed him into a small box, which he swacked loudly in, my mom sighned a form, and we headed for home.

I hope you get a bird some day.

Do you have a pet or two? A horse? A hamster? A parrot? Does it talk, fly, or even walk? I have a very special and beautiful mother of three named Molly. Molly is an indoor cat that doesn’t hunt because she prefers her cat food and so she doesn’t see the humour in hunting when she could have her usual. Molly sleeps with me at night. She cuddles with me at both of my hips as I give her a little bit of pets, then we both go to sleep.

Enough with the cats. Let’s talk about Princess. After my little sister was born, I was talking to my mom on the phone. I said I wanted to name my little sister’s name to be Princess but my mom disagreed. She said she wanted to name her new daughter, Elizabeth so she asked me what pet I wanted. I told her I wanted a hamster so my mom promised me a hamster. I was only 5. I didn’t know any better. 2 months later, I was sitting on my mom’s rocking chair, beside a big hamster cage with a black and white hamster named Princess. As she exercised on her hamster wheel, I made a sign out of a piece of paper and markers. When I was done, the sign said “Princess’s Cage.” My mom helped me with the sign. We had Princess for 10 months until summer came. Princess buried herself in her room in her cage to keep warm but she got too hot while  sleeping and died. I really miss Princess.

Do you have a pet or two? A dog? A cat? A bird? Do you have so many that, it seems like you own a zoo? I had a cat named Jenny. She’s the proud mother of four beautiful kittens. We gave Jenny away to my grandma, but she ran away years ago. She’s probably dead by now.

Another cat that we had is a grey one with a white belly and chest and his name is Buddy. He’s never ran away before and never will because he likes his home. I think Jenny just got really scared. Buddy is fixed and has never been a father and never will. He has green eyes, shortish hair and doesn’t really shed. Buddy’s a professional mouse, bird and squirrel hunter. When Buddy spots a mouse, he starts to play with it, by watching it carefully and putting his paw in front of the mouse when it goes in a direction to escape. I can tell the mouse dislikes it. Buddy hunts a bird by sneaking up on it in a tree or on the ground and then pounds on it. Then, he bites the neck of the bird until it stops shaking. I’ve never seen Buddy catch a squirrel so I don’t know how he does it. Buddy’s a little spoiled. Unlike the other cats, Buddy gets let into my grandma’s house but he’s lucky if my grandma’s dogs don’t see and bark at him. Thanks for reading!
