Mr. N's Class

When Mark’s father married Ellen Richards, he had promised to build her a home anywhere she wanted. She had chosen a spot above the town so that on one side Orca City’s roofs and the bay lay patterned below them. On the other the tundra, gently sloping, stretched to join the mountains.

Summary: Today there was millions of salmon off the coast of Alaska. Spring was coming so the days would always be light. No more darkness for three months. Mark went into to town trying to bargain for the grocery store’s old bread. He had no luck. So he went to three different restaurants. They gave him scraps, only scraps. He went home and gave the scraps to Ben. The only thing Mark marred of seeing Ben was that his father was always present. And that karl Anderson had strict rules. For the first few days Mark’s dad kept warning him not to get to get to close to Ben. He never listened. Then Mark’s dad would say get back, hes a wild animal he can’t be your pet, and he never will be. Mark thought that his dad was being unreasonable when he said that. His dad didn’t care though.

Summary: Today Mark’s mom woke up and realized that Mark wasn’t there. So she sent a man named Karl to go find him. She told him to be nice to Mark when he found him, but he didn’t reply. When Karl found Mark he said,” Holy mackerel.” He brought Mark back home and he got lectured. His dad yelled at him. ” I was just trying to save him.” said Mark. ” You stole him.” said Mark’s dad. ” I’m going to get rid of that bear you call a pet. I call it a dinner for a few weeks.” ” NO!” said Ben.

Summary: Today Mark ran into the woods yelling Ben. Then he saw a man with a rifle. He was pointing at Ben. Mark said dont do it. Then the guy shot Ben, but he kept going. His hind was paralyzed so he had to pull himself. The man shot him again, then Ben died. Mark woke up, it had all been a dream. Mark got dressed and ran outside. Ben was still there. Then Mark remembered that it was hunting season so he wished that Ben ran away. He doesn’t want Ben to die. Then Mark  had an idea so he tried to untie Ben, but he wouldn’t let him. He finally got him loose then they went in the woods.
