There are a lot of “cause and effect”s in this story like the plane crashes in a lake because Briansteers it down to the and he gets out. There is also one about he couldn’t catch a foolbird because he couldn’t see them until they started flying. He also couldn’t reach the pack because was in the water.
This book is about a boy named Brain Robeson that is 13 years old. His parents are divorced and goes with his mom during school and with his dad during the summer. It’s summer so he’s going to see his dad. His lives Canada and his mom lives in New York so he has to fly in a plane. While he’s on the plane the pilot has a heart attack and dies. Brain has to drive the plane but when the pilot has a heart attack he hits a rudder pedal. That sets him off course he crashes the plane in a nearby lake. He builds a shelter by the crash site so if the rescue team comes they’ll find him.
The Million dollar putt is about a boy who is blind. He meets a girl named Birdie Andrews when he falls out of a tree while he’s playing his guitar. He’s not totally blind he can see light and dark. Birdie’s parents are bird watchers, so they aren’t home a lot. She brings him into her house and shows him a pop up map of Hawaii. Birdie has a Maine accent that makes her very different to Bogie’s Dad. The thing that Bogie reveals to Birdie is his mother. Find out next week what about his mother he’s tried to keep a secret. . .
When I think Undercurrents I make connections to Sam, Nikki, and Bonnie‘s mom die. I’ve had my Grandpa die when I was at a young age. Undercurrents starts out a little interesting and it gets better.
