Artemis Fowl is a boy genius and even that, is an understatement. The Fowl’s are a family of black marketers, counterfeiters, animal poachers, and most of all thieves. Artemis though, has his sights on something bigger and when I say bigger I mean bigger. What Artemis plans to do would make stealing the Mona Lisa, look like a kindergartner stealing cookies from on top of the fridge. He plans to expose a (somewhat) peaceful race of Elves, Pixies, Centaurs, Goblins, and Dwarfs. Right now one of the fairies (Elf) is being held captive in the cell in the basement of Fowl Manor. Fowl Manor has been home to many generations of Fowls. Most of which…actually, I take that back. All of the Fowls have had at least one adventure on the shady side of the law.
Just to recap my last blog Odysseus’ ship has been crashed and he was lying unconscious on the beach of the Pheacains. Arete, who is the daughter of the king of the Pheacains, Alcinous. After being nursed back to health by Arete she takes him to the palace were Alcinous and his wife live. I think Odysseus will tell the story of how he came to wash up on the sandy shores of the Pheacians. I also think the Pheacains will try and send Odysseus to his home in Ithaca (Ith- i-cka), but Odysseus’ rotten luck will only get him washed up on another island and this island will most likely be home to some very unkind people (or things).
Right now in the Odyssey, Odysseus washed up on the beach because his boat sank (again) any way he washes up on the beach were he meets Arete. Arete is the daughter of Alcinous and Alcinous is the king of the Phaeacians. Odysseus is sort of taken in by the Phaeacians. The Phaeacians are good people and are also referred to as the spokesmen of the gods. Odysseus is about to tell the story of how he got here. I highly recomend this book because it is just a great story and it is very exciting and very, very hard to put down.
