Simulation – Explorers –

I think every class should do a simulation.  It is a fun interactive way to learn about somthing by pretending to be there.  My class did a  simulation about the explorers.  We sailed across the ocean  to the America’s.  Many people in our class “died” I didn’t die.  Many ships sunk.  I was a steward on the  R.M.S. Royal Maria.

Do you know what R.M.S means?

Please encourage Mrs Ripp to write a blog post that explains the simulation she used. :)

I always learn better when I get to do something with the material besides trying to memorize it. I wonder what type of a simulation you could think of if you tried to act out the parts of the water cycle or a journey on the Underground railroad.

And I didn’t know what R.M.S. meant, so I had to go searching. Royal Mail Ships had an important job to do, didn’t they? And it was really sad when some of them sank, like the Titanic. That meant that people died AND others didn’t get really important messages. Thank you for teaching ME something today.
