Need a blog post idea?  Here is a list for when you are feeling “writer’s block”.

  • If my desk could talk…
  • Describe a practical joke that you played on a friend or family member.  Describe a practical joke that was played on you.
  • Write about what you DIDN’T do this weekend but you wish you had.
  • If you were one inch tall, what are some things that you could do that you can’t do now.
  • It would be funny if…
  • The knight lifted his sword amidst the dragon’s flaming breath…
  • The conversation between Mr. Triangle and Miss Circle.
  • The door was locked and I couldn’t find the key.

Or here are some images that you can use as story starters.  You are also welcome to place the image into your post as an illustration.

Welcome to the class blog.  I am excited for the students to have a platform on which to share their class updates as well as insights and opinions about 4th grade in our classroom. Students will be required to post one blog entry per week as part of their spelling/writing curriculum.  However, I encourage them to post as often as they wish.  Please feel free to leave the students comments.  This is a great way for them to know there are people reading their writing.  It is also highly motivating to continue posting to his or her blog!

You can also visit our “virtual” classroom at www.mrsssmith.com. That is also where I post my blog entries.  Just click on BlogSmith at the top of the page.  Coming soon will be our very first episode of SmithCast.  Stay tuned.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the student blogs.  ssmith@tuscola.k12.il.us
