JT with Davy Crockett diorama

In this scene Davy was out shooting when he heard a bear.  He looked over and saw a big bear on his hind legs.  He took out his gun aimed and fired, but nothing came out of the gun.  Davy was out of bullets.  He had no choice but to stare down the bear.  It took one minute until the beat got scared and ran away.

Division Ode

Mini Soccer Balls

Ode to Mini Soccer Balls

I brought in 252 to share with 25 students

All colorful, pumped,

 and smooth.

They bounced

and curved

and flew

With 25 in the class,

We each got 10 of them,

With 2 left over for the gym.

What a treat my Mini Soccer Balls were.

What a bouncy treat!

252/25= 10R2

In early November I went to one of my favorite authors book signings, Christopher Paolini.  He wrote the Eragon Series.  These are some thigs he said about himself.

Christopher was home schooled.  When his mom taught him how to read he hated it.  He didn’t think it was useful when he would get older.  But one day he went to the local library (in Montana were he lives).  He found a mystery book and just loved it. So that’s how he thought about being a writer when he grew up.

Also, he finished high school at the age of fifteen because he had no summer breaks.  He thought it would be the best thing ever but he got absolutly bored, so he dug a hole.  He was actually proud of that hole, it was eight feet wide and eight feet deep, and he dug a tunnel to get in to it.  But then he decided to write Eragon.

Christopher had a rough daft for this book.  In the final draft, the main character is Eragon, but in the rough draft his name was Kevin.  Also, Christopher played this game where you play other people around the world. He found a guy and he logged in as Eragon and he thought I’ve got to play him so he did. But sadly he lost and across the screen it said you just lost to ERAGON.  The family loved it so they thought they would get a lot of money off of it so they started a publishing company so Christopher self-published it.

When Christopher toured the states for book signings there was somebody with a sugar glider on their arm, so of course Christopher asked if he could pet it.  The owner said sure she doesn’t bite.  So he pet it and then the glider grabbed his finger and started knawing on it. Blood started to come out so he took his finger away and asked, “I thought you said it doesn’t bite!”  She responded, “It doesn’t but it knaws.”

There’s some things about Christopher Paolini if you have questions just comment and ask me. Bye.

The Last Turkey Straw

Hi, the name’s T.J, T.J Turkey. First,  I would like to say I would never be in this place but what can I say, these chairs are pretty comfy. Turkey you may present your case.  Thank you Judge Clevert but first I would like to say WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAISNT TURKEYS!

I mean we want to live too.  Let me present subject A, the farmer’s ax.  It is not fun sitting in line for something you do not want to do. Right turkeys! Gobble, gobble! Thank you.  Next.  Farmer you may present your case.  Well, first who here likes turkeys say aye.  A couple voices broke the silence.  Let me present subject B.  A turkey feather.  Look at this piece of art, if we didn’t pluck the turkeys we would not have this.  Well, then why don’t you pluck peacocks instead, said T.J.

Now judge let me put it this way, would you like to go in a oven.  No, said the judge.  So I rest my case T.J Turkey cried.  If you want turkeys to be eaten say aye, but if you don’t say, nay.  Nay was heard very clear. I guess that turkeys won’t be eaten but something else will have to be eaten.  In that very second a cock a doodle do broke the silence.       Good luck chickens!

In math we took tests for Unit two and worked a lot in our problem solvers. We mostly worked on partial sums and trade first subtraction. For most of the students if you rushed you might get a low score. Taking your time really helps. Also some fun games we’ve been playing are multiplication bingo and multiplication baseball. For problem solvers some students have finished all thirty-eight problems some have not. I can’t wait until next week.
