Now this is a truely exciting story. Hades, By Feiwel and friends is a Fantasy book. I found it at Barnes and Noble. I do realize the common phrase, “Don’t judge a book by its cover!” But this one really caught my eye. It showed a girl with wings riding on the back of a motorcycle with a man with long hair driving in the front, also it shows cracks in the earth that are glowing orange and red. This is how I had come to read this book, and by reading the description on the back, became interested.
The main character is Bethany. Bethany is a 18 year old angel who lives with her 2 siblings: Archangel Gabriel, Seraphim Ivy. She also has a human boyfriend named Xavier. The story starts out around Halloween time and Bethany and her friends are talking about what they are going to do for that Halloween night on Friday. Molly, Bethany’s best friend, idiotically suggests they have a seance. Every one agree’s accept Bethany because she has dealt with the dead and spirits before, and know’s what could happen. When the night comes the go to the abandoned mansion, where a group of 8th graders invited everyone to come to a party. The friends trick Bethany into participating in the seance and disaster strikes them hard. Jake Thorn, a demon prince from the Third Circle in Hades is summoned, after he was harshly banished for trying to set the world on fire in the first book, “Halo”. Bethany is completly freaked out. She runs out of the mansion and frantically looks for Xavier.Just then, before she could run any farther Wesley, one of Xavier’s friends, pulls up on a motorcycle right in front of her. He tells her that Xavier jumped off a tree branch and into the water, he then hit his head on some rocks and is not moving. He tells her to get on his motorcycle and that he will take her to help him. She does so. But, instead of him taking her down into the woods, he pulls up onto the highway. Bethany then see’s Xavier walking towards the mansion on the highway and Wesley pulls up and stops. Bethany soon found out that it wasn’t Wesley, but her x-boyfriend/demon prince Jake Thorn. Bethany tries to scramble off but finds her hands are glued around him by some kind of force. Xavier tries to run to her but he bounces off some magnetic force feild. Jake then peels out and slams his motorcycle against Xavier, causing him to be unconsious. Jake takes Bethany through a portal and down into Hades, where he then swipes her memory and traps her in a penthouse in Hotel Ambrosia all by herself for weeks! Apparently, this is all part of King Lucifer’s (King of the Underworld and Jake’s father) plan. To bring one of Heaven’s own down to Hell, expecting them to break the balance and start a war between angel’s and demons, in their trouble’s to bring her back home.
Between missing her family, having to deal with Jake, and longing to save and be with her boyfriend, Bethany has a lot in store for her.
That’s all I will tell you for now. If you want to learn more about the book, ask me and you can read it if you like.
You Know Where I Am.
