The Hunger Games is a great book. There is a lot of action and suspense. The book was written by Suzanne Collins. The beginning of the book was boring for me but it got better and better. The Hunger Games takes place in Panem, a made up country. So the Hunger Games is a annual televised competition where kids from ages 12-18 are selected from each district. 1 boy and 1 girl will be selected from each district and the kids fight to the death and only one comes out alive. The winners get lots of food to live off of and are able to feed their poor families. The main characters are Katniss and Peeta. Lots of people die and some parts are very sad. There are fire balls, swords, bows and arrows, and lots of blood. People get cut to the bone, eat poisonous berries and get shot by an arrow, and even starve, die by dehydration and bleed out . .The climax of the book is when Katniss and Peeta were going to kill themselves by eating poisonous berries. This book is very good and I recommend it. There are 2 other books in the Hunger Games series and I think they will be just as good as the first one.
Leave a commentDaemon Hall is a great book by Andrew Nance. This is a great horror story. In the book a kid named Wade is a story writer and he is invited to a haunted mansion called Daemon Hall for a writing contest. Who ever wins gets there story published. Other contestants, Kara, Chris, Demarius, and Chealsy are there too. Once they enter Daemon Hall a famous horror story writer, Mr. Tremblin greets them and lets them in. The kids gather in the living room and tell their scary stories they have written (creepy things happen while the kids are reading their stories like when they heard foot steps in the dark hallways and no one was there). They blow out 1 candle (their only source of light) each time a story has been read. Once all of the candles are blown out and the winner is chosen they are able to leave. A year passes and the contestants that have survived return to Daemon Hall to burn it down to put an end to the evil. The book is amazing and I highly recommend reading this book… if you can take it.

The 39 clues: one false note is an amazing book, I love it. There is a lot of adventure, danger and excitement . I’ll tell you a little about the 39 clues book 2: one false note.
The 39 clues series is about a contest started by Grace Cahill (Amy and Dans grandmother). It all started when Grace died and her will was read. It explained that the family has to find 39 clues. The person that collects all of the clues will become the most powerful person alive.
In one false note, book 2 of the series Amy and Dan Cahill are looking for the second of 39 clues. They traveled to Pennsylvania to look for the clue. They went to the Benjamin Franklin museum to find information on the clue which has something to do with him. They were looking around when boom, a bomb detonated. The enemys were crushed from the roof made of stone. Amy and Dan were safe. When they turned the corner the man wearing a black suit was standing there. He is the one that detonated the bomb. Later on in the book he nearly killed them when they fell in a hole at the cemetary and it filled with cement almost submerging them. Then Amy tricked their cousins (they are competing against them) into teaming up temporarily to find the clue. When they got out of the hole Amy knocked Ian out and Dan threw down a concussion grenade and knocked out the crooks. Then they turned around and saw the man in black watching them and then they ran out of the cemetery looking back about every second.
Read the first book to find how it all started and read the second book to find out if and how they find the second clue. If you like those read the whole series. I think I made my point, right?
