I read Abduction by Peg Kehret. I chose this book because Peg Kehret is one of my favorite authors. She has also written Stolen Children which is currently one of my favorite books. Abduction is about a little boy named Matt. He has a sister named Bonnie and lives with just  his mom. He had never met his father. Bonnie has a different father that had died years before Matt had been born. One normal day at school Matt had gone to the bathroom. When he had exited the bathroom a strange man dressed in a UPS uniform had told him that his beloved dog Pookie, that he adored, had been hurt and that Matt had to come with this strange man to the vet, so Pookie wouldn’t be scared. He also told him that Matt’s mother had ordered him to do so. Matt became convinced but not easily. So they drove off. Meanwhile, Bonnie had been dismissed from school at her usual time, looked for Matt to get on the bus with, but couldn’t find him. She soon got very worried. Poor Bonnie looked everywhere for her innocent little brother Matt, but just simply could not find him. She then reported him missing to the school. Police came, searched the entire school, and Matt was nowhere to be found. Will Matt be lost forever? Or will his family’s persistence and determination bring him back home? You have to read Abduction to find out more.

I enjoyed reading this book. I would reccomend it to other classmates. If you love mystery and suspence then you will like this book.

Something Like Fate is a very interesting book. The main character is Lani. She is a sixteen year old high school girl. Her best friend is Erin. They became friends after a tragic event. Erin soon falls in love with Jason. While Erin goes to summer camp, Lani and Jason realize that they are meant to be together. She says that it is something like fate. While Erin is gone they, walk along the train tracks, spend long nights relaxing at the beach, and have the best times of their life. The only thing that could ruin it would be when Erin comes home and they have to tell her what was going on. Lani then knows that her perfect summer has come to an end. You would think that this is hard enough for Lani to deal with, but your wrong. Another one of Lani’s good friends is Blake. Blake is gay. The only person Blake trusts about this is Lani. One day when Jason and Lani were talking alone in a classroom, the wrong words slipped out of Lani’s mouth. Oh, no! Did she really just tell him. How could she tell Jason that Blake’s gay? What a horrible friend Lani must have felt like, but it didn’t matter. Jason wasn’t going to tell anyone. How did another classmate find out? They were alone in the classroom when the words slipped out of Lani’s mouth. What will happen to Lani? Will she lose the friends she is so connected to or do happily ever afters really come true?

I would definitely recommend this book to a classmate. The author kept me into the book and making me want to read more.

Whatever Happened To Janie is a great book to read if u like mystery with a hint of romance. The main characters are Janie Johnson, Mrs. Johnson, Mr. Johnson, Reeve Shields, and Sarah-Charlotte. One normal day at school she picks up her friend’s milk carton to see her face on the back saying that she was kidnapped at a mall in New Jersey! She couldn’t believe what her eyes had seen. She spends an immense amount of time trying to put the pieces together. Janie doesn’t think this could be true. Her parents are loving and caring. How could this be true? Meanwhile she falls in love with her neighbor Reeve Shields. She didn’t want to tell her parents about the milk carton but all that she knew was building up inside of her. She had so many questions that needed answers. Is this why she doesn’t have any baby pictures? Where is her birth certificate?

Finally she asks her parents about her childhood. They tell her about their real daughter, Hannah. How she was different, not like all the other little girls. When she got older she joined a group called the cult. She had a baby. Then she came home for a short time and gave them the child. Oh how Mr and Mrs Johnson adored this little girl. They hopped from town to town, house to house knowing that the cult would want the young child back. They even changed their last name from Javenson to Johnson. They never spoke to their real little girl ever again. I found this part very strange but the story got better. Mr and Mrs Johnson are not Janie’s grandparents or Hannah’s daughter. Who is Janie Johnson? Is she possibly Jennie Spring as the milk carton says? Who does know who she is?!
