I’m reading the book Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. The main character is Tally. Tally is 15.  Among her friends she is the youngest and the last to turn pretty. Tally is an ugly and her best friend Peris just turned pretty.

When you turn 16 you turn pretty. To be a pretty you have to be at least 16. Pretties have to have a special surgery, if you have not had this surgery you are considered to be an ugly. Pretties can do what ever they want to do at any given time.  Uglies can not go to Prettyville. Uglies have a curfew and have to go to school. Pretties don’t. Some uglies like to play pranks on each other and break the rules. Tally used to sneak around Prettyville with Peris after curfew.  When Peris turned pretty, Tally went to prettyville to see if she could see Peris but that didn’t work out too well. When she went back to uglyville she meet shay. Shay is another ugly how is 15 and has the same birthday as Tally. But Shay doesn’t want to turn pretty. So Shay decides to run away to a secret place (the day befor her birthday). Shay wanted Tally to go too but she wanted to be pretty so she didnt go at first.

My favorite part is when Shay first takes Tally on the roller coaster in the Rusty Ruins. The rusty ruins is an abandoned town. in thew middle of the coaster there is  gap. Tally wasn’t expeting the gap and got mad at Shay for not telling her. They went down the roller coaster on therie hover boards that need metal grids under ground for the board to fly.

I read Percy Jackson and  The  Olymplans: The Lightning Theief by Rick Riordan.  Percy Jackson is a twelve-year old boy who has ADHD. He goes to a private school in upstste New York called Yancy Academy. His best and only friend is Grover. At school Grover is an easy target for being picked on.  His class took a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of art for greek and roman stuff they’ve been studying. The teacher let them outside to eat lunch, outside there was a fountain. Grover and Percy were sitting on the fountain edge eating lunch. Nancy Bobofit (a bully) came over and dumped her lunch on Grover. Percy  tried to protect him, “A wave roared in my ears.” Next thing Percy knows, Nancy is in the fountain and she yells, ”Percy Jackson pushed me!” He heard other kids wishper, ”The water… it like grabbed her.” Percy had to go with mrs.dodds to talk to her about that. All of a sudden Percy noticed Mrs. Dodds was at the front door of the museum percy walked over to her. When they got in the museum they went to an empty room. Mrs.Dodds was making a weird noise in her throat like a growling. She said “Do you really think you would get away with this honey?” He said he was going to try harder text time. All of the sudden thnder shook the bulding. “Were not fools Percy Jackson. Its olny a matter of time befor we found you.” He had no idea what she was talking about. “Your time is up” said Mrs.Dodds. You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.

My favorite part of the book is when Percy gets granted his quest. Percy had no idea what his quest was. Chiron  told him what it was. When he heard this, he laughted nervously “what?” What he had to do was get back part of a god’s proptery that was stolen. Two of the most imprtant gods were at war because of that. One of the wepons Chiron gave Percy to protect was a bronze sword that was disguised as a pen and when you click it it turned into a sword. It was called Riptide. Riptide only harmed monsters, and half-bloods.

I would recmond this book to antbody who likes greek mythaigy, because it is all about greek gods and titans with a little bit of adventure. I would also recmond this book to anybody who like adventures books. If you like adventrues books you will like this book it also has some facts about greek gods.

I read White Fang, by  Jack London.  My favorite part was when White Fang’s love master took White Fang  to the city with him. White Fang thought the cars were horsesless carrigegs. White Fang’s love master did not live in the city though. He lived in a town near the city. They had to take a train and White Fang was put in the “room” with the clothes. He recognized the smell of his love master’s clothes and sat on top of them. When they arrived White Fang would not let the guy who unloads the luggage  near his love master’s stuff.

White fang’s mother Kiche was a leader of a pack along with his father One Eye. Kiche was part dog, part wolf. One Eye was all wolf.  White Fang was part dog part wolf. They were called wolf -dog. His brothers and sister were also wolf-dog . White Fang had black on his back  and a white stomache and legs. He was the only one out of the five cubs that actually looked like a wolf. The other four had inherited Kiche’s dog like reddish fur.

This book is about a young wolf growing up. Kiche and One Eye are pack leaders of a wolf pack. Kiche is looking for a nice place to have her cubs and One Eye is going along with her, One Eye does not know Kiche is going to have cubs. When she found a spot Kiche had her cubs. One Eye was sitting outside of the cave and he heard whimpering. One Eye walked into the cave and saw the cubs. Kiche groweld a warning at him and he stepped back. One Eye went out to find food for his family. He caught a porcupine and brought it back to the cave.  For a while One Eye could not find food. Four of the five died. The one who survived was White fang, the one who looked most like a true wolf.  White Fang went out of the cave, he was just wandering around. Eventurly he came to a river he didnt know you coun’t just walk arcoss it so he  stepped on it. He was supprised that he went down. ”He had never learned to swim, but his instinct told him he nedded to stay aflot.” He came to a bank crawled out.
