Dear Readers,

I have just read the book I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter. Cammie Morgan seems like an ordinary girl. She  goes to a school called The Gallgher Acedemy for  Exceptional Young Women where her mom is the headmistress. Everyone thinks it’s a school for snotty rich girls, but it is really a school for for girls with genius IQ’s. Sounds normal except that they are learning how to be spies! In the school you learn how to do many things. In PE they learn advanced martial arts, and in Science they learn chemical warfare. A girl like this sounds like she is capable of doing anything. Cammie who is known as the Chameleon (when she doesn’t want to be seen she’s not) runs into a problem during a mission in her covert operations class. At the end of the mission she gets noticed by a BOY! His name is Josh. Even though she is a spy she can’t even talk to him properly without freaking out. Cammie even thinks he likes her! With the help of her friends she talks to him. But how is she going to see him when they can’t leave school grounds? How is she going to lie to her mom? Even more difficult, how is she going to lie to HIM? You’ll just have to find out.

My favorite part of the book is at the end when she is taking an exam and she breaks up with Josh. He thinks she was kidnapped and follows her. He ends  up ruining her exam by intruding and trying to save her. I thought that was funny and sponteneous. I enjoyed this book because of all the action. I also loved how it’s about spies. If you like a good mystery and cliff hanger this is the book for you! My favorite character was Cammie. I liked how she was always sneaking around. All the interesting classes they got to take look like a lot of fun. If you want to read this book you can find at the public library and maybe the school library.

Love,

Lael

Dear Readers,

I just read the book The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. The Mysterious Benedict Society is about four kids named Constance Contraire, George “Sticky” Washington, Reynard Muldoon, and Kate Weatherall. When reading the newspaper they fall upon an ad asking for “Gifted Children” and saying you can win “Special Opportunities”. They all decide to try out. After taking a few rounds of tests they all find themselves at a mysterious house were they will take the final test. Each entering the house one at a time to take the test they see it is a maze of mysterious identical rooms with doors on all sides. All finding a different way to get through, they meet a man named Mr. Benedict. Mr. Benedict tells the children they were chosen because they all have a special gift of wanting to always know the truth. This gift helps them resist a unknown forecast (through television and radio) of children telling you to do things that are not true.  Mr. Benedict tells them that he needs them to go to a school called The Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened  (L.I.V.E) were the forecasts are coming from. The four of them are sent to this school where they are to try to find more information. They find out that the messages are being sent out by a man named Mr. Curtain. They try to get close to him to find out how he is sending these messages. Will  they figure out how to stop these messages before it is to late? I guess you will just have to read the book to find out.

I thought this was a really good book. It was a mix between a mystery, adventure, and science fiction. It was so good with the suspense and action. If you like a good cliff hanger then this is the book for you. I liked how each character had a unique thing that they were good at which made reading interesting because you wanted to know all the details about that person. The book was so action packed it was amazing. Each chapter had a special thing happening in it. My favorite character was Reynie. He was my favorite character because he has a great ability to solve puzzles. I also like him because he was kinda of like the leader of the group. I also liked Kate.I like her because her enthusiasm was so high and I liked how she was always prepared. This is what I think of The Mysterious Benedict Society.

Lael

Dear Readers,

Get ready for action, adventure, loyalty and cats!

I just read Sunset the 6th book in the Warriors series The New Prophecy by Erin Hunter. It was a great book to end the second series. I loved how the book pulled me in and insisted I keep reading. It was good with all the action, drama, and intense fighting. The book is about cats who live in four differnt clans (river, shadow, wind, and thunder). They have to live by a code, patrol there territory and survive. The cats go from small kits in the nursery, to training apprentices, to warriors, and maybe deputy then leader. They  just recently fled there territory from two-legs (humans) destroying their homes and are now settling into there new lake home. In this book there is a prophecy that Leafpool ( Thunderclan medicine cat ) foretold that said ” Before all is peacful, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red”. Many exciting and sad things happen and Leafpool is uncertain when this horrible prophecy is going to happen.

The way the author wrote the book made the characters so real. I love the warriors series because there is so much interesting information about all the different clans and there members that you get to take in. Also I love the actions and cats. I found that the ending of the book was the best part. In the book there are new characters, an unknowing prophecy, and an end that no one would expect. There are fights over territory, shocking truths, and long seen friends you will never want to put this book down. If you like cats, adventure, and loyalty then this is a good series for you. If you want to read these series then make sure that you read the first book Into The Wild.

To find the warriors series you can find them in almost any library ( preferably the public library and maybe the school library, but I don’t know).

Have fun reading,

Lael
