250px-Breaking_Dawn_cover.jpgBreaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn is a very thrilling, twisting book. This book is the fourth and last book of the Twilight Saga. In this book, the main character is Bella. In the first book, Bella and Edward fell in love. Now they are getting married, and many things will follow. In the book, the main coven is the Cullen coven. This coven is home to Carlisle Cullen, Esme Cullen, Alice Cullen, Jasper Cullen, Rosalie Cullen, Emmet Cullen, Edward Cullen, and the vampire to be, Bella Cullen. This coven is all the same as any other coven, but they do have one small difference. The Cullens can control their thirst for blood around humans, and only hunt for animals. They are the first clan to do so and have been very succesful for hundreds of years. During the first three books, the Cullens faced many challenges. But, in this book, they will face their biggest challenge yet. A child. After getting married, Edward and Bella go on their honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While there, Bella finds out she is going to have a baby. To most people, this would be great news, but not in this situation. Once someone is turned into a vampire, they can not have children. Bella and Edward are a immortal, mortal couple. So, this means, unlike a vampire, Bella still has the body structure for a baby, which makes it possible. While pregnant, Bella gets sick. For some reason, the baby is growing faster than a normal baby. This is putting to much pressure on Bella and could kill her easily.

This is the fourth of four books in the Saga, read Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse before reading this! Read Breaking Dawn to find out what happens to Bella, her baby, and the rest of the Cullen clan. This book can be found in both the library and Ms. Field’s room 204. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a dramatic tale with lots of secrets, and can read a book that has a lot of pages.

Mockingjay

Mockingjay, out of the three boooks in the series, is different. There is no fighting in the arena, or any Hunger Games this time. This book is more on revenge. Revenge on the Capitol, especially President Snow. The first two books are great, but this on is not the same. In Catching Fire and The Hunger Games, Katniss goes into the arena and fights. In Mockingjay, no one goes to the arena, they have war with the Capitol. You see, for over 76 years, the Capitol has been ruling over Panem and all 12 districts. But, finally, the districts are sick of the starving, and cowering, and taking a beating from the Capitol. They are sick of putting their children into a arena and watching them fight to the death for the Capitol’s entertainment. The districts don’t want to be overpowered. They wan’t freedom, where everyone has enough to eat, and a place to stay, and clothes to wear. A place where people don’t die on Ms.Everdeen’s kitchen table. Somewhere the children can run, play, and laugh. The exact place that the Capitol had been taking from them.

In Mockingjay, Katniss choses to be the mockingjay. She is basically the symbol of the whole operation on the revenge on the Capitol. She thinks it’s the right choice until she finds out she will not be in any real battle. Just the things called a ”propo”. They are like skits or scenes. They are supposed to look real but, really, they are just fake. Sadly, Katniss is basically the worst actress in the world. So, lucky for Katniss, the only way they can get it to look real, is for it to be real. In the book, Katniss goes through a hospital, then watches it get bombed to the ground. Then, she goes to a fake Capitol street and watches a few of her friends die. Oh yeah, and her leader gets his legs blown of too.

If you want to find out what happened in the end of Mockingjay, you’ll have to read the book yourself.

Watch your back, and keep an eye out for The Hunger Games!

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins will suck you into the futuristic world of Panem where there a mockingjays, and tracker jackers, and weird beasts with the minds of dead tributes all created by the twisted minds of the capitol. During the Hunger Games two tributes are chosen from each of the twelve districts. In District Twelve lives Katniss Everdeen, her sister Prim,  and their depressed mother. Out of all the girls in the district, Primrose Everdeen is chosen to enter the hunger games. It hit Katniss like a bowling ball hits pins. She can not bare the thought of living without her sister. Sacrificing herself to save her sister, she willingly takes her sister’s place. Along with her is Peeta Mellark. The two tributes have to go against not only  each other, but against the twenty-two other tributes from the eleven other districts. In the arena, all twenty-four tributes are forced to fight to the death. Not only that, but they have to find their own food and survive on their own.

Katniss Everdeen: Katniss is a stubborn sixteen year old who does not like to get dressed up in girly clothes. She would do anything for her sister Prim. She has a special bond/ friendship with Gale.

Gale: Gale is just like a boy version of Katniss. They both have black hair, cloudy gray eyes, and a palish skin color. They share a bond that is not love, but really close friendship. I like the way Suzanne Collins explains their friendship. It is hard to explain in my own words, but if you read the book  will you will understand.

I, personally, loved this book. So much action, emotion, and a touch of romance. The suspence as to who wins will literally pull you in. I suggest that right after you finish reading this blog, you should go and get this book yourself. I warn you though, if you can’t handle one of the best books on earth, DO NOT read this book. But, you should anyway.

I recommend this book to anyone who can read this level of book. I also recommend the other books of this series: Catching Fire and Mockingjay
