Vermont is a place not far away from here. It is 2/3 forest and has a population of only  570,000 people which is the top third least populated state in the U.S. Vermont’s capital, Montpelier is also the least populated capital in America. Burlington is the largest city with only 39,000 people. That’s the size of an average mlb stadium capacity. 

Vermont’s land is very beautiful. There are mountains, fields, forests, and more. The highest point in Vermont is Mount Mansfield at 4,500 feet. The coldest temperature ever recorded in Vermont was -50 degrees. That’s so cold and the air is so dry at that temperature that you would cough up blood and freeze to death. The hottest was 105 degrees on July 4, 1911 in Vernon, Vermont.

There are many historic sights in Vermont, from barns to ancient Indian carvings. Also, there were many wars that were fought in Vermont such as the Battle of Bennington.Vermont is one of the smallest states but has a lot of wildlife. This includes bears,skunks,raccoons,deer,wolves, and more animals.

Vermont experiences all of the four seasons, winter, spring, fall, and summer. They have harsh winters and surprisingly mild to warm summers including that they are far up north. There are many farms in Vermont that produce cheese,milk, and yogurt. Also, they are a huge producer in maple syrup. They lead the country in most syrup produced in a state.

I would recommend this book to anyone because it is a fun read and you can learn a lot about one state in one book.Also you can know what it is like in a different place other than where you live. I enjoyed this book because I am into non-fiction.

The book I am reading is called ”Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days” by Jeff Kinney. The main character is Greg Heffley  and is in Middle School and he is on summer break. In the story Rowley and Greg had a sleepover together and they thought that there was a ghost in the basement. Greg’s father came downstairs to see what it was; turns out that it was a toy making weird noises.

Rowley’s dad owns a country club and they thought that they got free smoothies but they did not so Greg and Rowely had a bill at the end of the summer and they had to pay the eighty three dollars total. Together, they came up with a plan to make there own lawn company with them on the cover looking like men with six pack abs and giant muscles and that they had great service which they didn’t.

On Greg’s birthday, his parents got him a lame gift. It was a phone that could only call 911 and his mom and dad. They went into the kitchen to have cake and Uncle Joe’s dog had eaten his cake which was unfortunate. Greg’s mom felt bad about what happened at Greg’s party so they went to the mall and walked to the pet store and they each had a five dollars to spend. Greg got a an angelfish and Rrodrick got an aggressive fish. Greg was happier after he got a better gift for his birthday.

In July, Greg’s family went to the public pool and everybody had to take a shower before entering the pool. When Greg walked through the locker room he saw hairy men taking a shower which was not pleasant to see.  The pool was loaded to the maximum so Greg went into the kiddie pool until a little kid said ” mama I’m peeing ” and that made Greg leave the pool. Late in August Greg had gone to the pool and the girl he loved was there. He tried to impress her but it didn’t happen.

At the end of the book Greg went to Rowley’s Cabin near beach and he rode the ride that Rodrick said was awesome called the Cranium Shaker. Rowley got a t-shirt saying ” I survived the Cranium Shaker ” but he really didn’t. Greg had got sent home for hurting Rowley at the cabin . His mom made him join a reading club run by herself  and Greg hated it. That was how the book ended, on a low note. I would recommend this book to people who like funny things and to people who enjoyed the other books in this series. That is the book that I had finished reading, ”Diary of A Wimpy Kid Dog Days”.

I am reading the book Grizzly! Real-Life animal Attacks. As you can tell, it is about animal attacks. This book talks about animal attacks such as bears, sharks, crocodiles, fish, spiders, scorpions, and pets! It also has skills to stay safe if you encounter a dangerous animal. I reccomend this book to you because it has real life story’s in  it and it is very interesting to see how a lot of people in the book survive these sudden attacks. I sure woudn’t want to be in there shoes.

  Here are some ways to stay safe when going hiking in the woods. You should never go hiking by yourself. You have a much slimmer risk by going with 2 or 3 other people. If you didn’t go with a buddy, it is not  very smart because if you did get attacked, there would be nobody to run and get help.

If you do run into a bear you should stay calm and not look it in the eye or else it could charge or think you are challenging it. Never run away or the bear will automatically charge. If a bear does charge, wave your hands in the air to make yourself appear bigger. Play dead if the bear is attacking. Hopefully the bear will walk away. If not then fight back and yell for help. A good defense if you go hiking alone, bring a bottle of pepper spray to turn it away. That is how you can survive a bear attack.

If you ever were to get bitten by a snake or a spider, than get medical help immediatley. If a mountain lion were near you, stay still and calm. Rocks and twigs tend to drive it away. Yell and try to scare off the mountain lion. If you find a crocodile in the area, get away. They can run very fast and have a deadly bite. They can run faster than you think.

If you came across a scorpion, then either smash it extremely hard to make sure you kill it, or get help from a parent or guardian. Scorpions love places like shoes to hide in. So if you live in a dry, hot place like New Mexico, Arizona, or southern Texas and California. That is what you should do if one of these dangerous animals suddenly attacked. Last, this is a book that I would reccomend to anyone. It is one of my favorite books I have read.
