The Hunger Games have began and it is being televised. It’s going to take smarts to win the Hunger Games and Katniss knows that and can do it. The announcer is just pushing that Katniss and Peeta are madly in love to the audience, so its pretty predicable of whats going to happen. The fight continues and Katniss finds a girl name Rue who has reminded her of her sister, but she was dead so she honored her death by putting flowers on her. As the numbers continue to go down, Peeta and Katniss are still in the Hunger Games, then the rules changed that two people can survive in the Hunger Games (so predicable). Katniss at the end finds Peeta injured but they are the two remaining in the Hunger Games so they both won the Hunger Games.

I did like this book, but i found it so predicable. It was nothing compared to A thousand Splendid Suns and Infidel how tere was so many things that were so unexpected. But this book is action packed and a good read

A sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12 in Pamen (Fake place). Katniss is responsible for hunting and putting food on the table for her family. She lost her father at a young age and has taken everything that he has taught her about hunting. She provides for her mother and her sister in a little house in District 12. As the book goes on they start to talk about the Hunger Games which an annual event that all districts have 2 people, one girl and one boy compete from each district, it’s actually a punishment for previous rebellion . Katniss sister was chosen to participate in the Hunger Games randomly, but Katniss decided to volunteer  herself for it. Where I am in the book is she preparing herself for the Hunger Games with her partner Peeta. Hunger games.jpg

The second part of this book got a lot better. The first half of this started slow and whenever I am discussing this book, I can not get the image of the little girl getting her clitoris removed. But as the book went on, it didn’t get as bad as that part but there were some parts that made me stop again. Like there was a murder of a director and when he was stabbed several times he ended up with a note through his chest telling him about the movie that he was making and how it offended the Muslim culture. It’s a true story, Ayaan is the main character and its all real events in her life. Which personally I find to be a better read. If a little girl getting her clitoris removed and a man getting stabbed and having a note stabbed on his chest isn’t interesting i don’t know what it. I really liked this book and recommend this book to anyone that is up for a challenge and can handle the disturbing details. Ayaan vrijheid.jpg
