Hidden leaves is in the debeers series written by v.c. andrews. The main character is dr.debeer’s it tells all of his personal thoughts and is written like a diary. Dr.Debeers is a mental health doctor. The story is about his love affair with his patient Grace Montegomery. Half way through the story it switches to his daughter Willow’s point of view, which made it almost like a completely different story. Willow’s half of the book describes her younger childhood that you didnt learn in the book “Willow”. I would rate this book an 8 because I really expected a little more from this book. I didnt like the supervising nurse Nadine Gordon . Throughout the entire book she terrorizes Grace because it turns out she also loves Claude Debeers. Claude has two women inlove with him and hes unhappily married. When i read Grace’s story I truely wanted her to be happy and to find the rights person but her whole life she just kept getting hurt and ruined by others cruelty. So I was glad at all the detail in this book about how her and claude had fallen inlove. The main conflict was how the two were supposed to keep there love a secret since they were in a mental institution…

Water for elephants was written by Sara Gruen in 2007.This book is told from the first point of view by Jacob, the main character. Each chapter varies from Jacob in the present day as an old man and Jacob back in the past when he was younger. This book recounts his tales of when he joined the circus. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down; I don’t think there are very many books written like this one either. In some parts there was a little too much detail but it was bad. So Jacobs’s parents die and he realizes he has no where to go no money and just feels like there’s nothing left for him in college. So he was walking the train tracks at night as a train was passing he hopped on and the story tells the tail of what happened after. I like the ending of the book I was afraid it was going to be sad but I was surprised. Also in some parts there in Albany and Saratoga springs so I thought it was cool how it ties in to our area. Altogether this book was excellent and the movie was okay definitely not as good.

Nineteen minutes it is told by many varrying points of view by various characters in the book. When you first start reading this novel its a little hard to get into but by the middle of the story i couldnt keep my hands off it. Each chapter is from a different time period of the characters lives. The book is first based on alex comier who is “single” but gets impregnated by her lover. Alex keeps the child and befriends her midwife who also just gave birth. Naturally the childern josie and peter then became friends. Middle school hits and they go seperate ways josie becomes popular and peter is forever stuck being bullied and harassed. Peter gets feeling for josie through out the years and in high school after several encounters sends her an email. The email details his love to her,  josies friend finds the email before josie reads it and sends it to everyone. Finally enough is enough for poor peter and he just snaps. That morning when he went to school he set off a pipe bomb, shot and killed several kids. The rest of the story explains the trial and josies life after the shooting. I would rate this book about a nine out of ten because i would have liked there to be more about josies life and her boyfriend mat. Also i would have liked the ending to be a little different because it just left me not feeling the greatest. “i’ve always wondered, though: if everyone elses opinion is what matters, then do you really have one of your own?” I believe this was the quote of the book because it speaks the truth and is an honest statement. Everyone does have a opinion but in the end it doesnt matter to anyone.
