The first half of Catching Fire wasn’t that exciting, but the second half definitely made up for everything. Whatever I didn’t expect to happen did, from romance to an unexpected Hunger Games for the 75th anniversary and teaming up in order to survive.

This book was just thrilling. Suzanne Collins really makes it possible to connect with the characters, which not only makes it an emotional read, but exhilarating as well. You must expect the unexpected.

Katniss and Peeta’s fake love, Gales’ friendship, Haymitch’s knowledge and caring, and the secret plan all add up to an awesome plot and overall book. I didn’t think I’d be able to say it but I think I like this one even better than the first book, The Hunger Games. Although school has stopped and I don’t usually read books outside of school, I think I might have to read the next book in the series, it was that good.

This is the second book of Suzanne Collins’ series of The Hunger Games. It explains what happens after the games Peeta and Katniss participated in, and the conflict is no where over.

Rebellions are forming in individual Districts, and people are unhappy with the capitol. It tells about the important decisions Katniss is forced to make, and how not everyone can always be happy. The lives of Katniss’s loved ones lay in her hands, as she has been threatened, and must act a certain way. Although she is living a rich life, all she can wish for is her old, poor life before the games. It really teaches many life lessons, most importantly life isn’t about the money, rather the people whom mean the most to you.

Once you get into it even further, it really keeps the reader wanting more. The truth is questioned, and love and life become even more complicated that ever.

The Hunger Games is an exciting fight for survival told in the first point of view as Katniss, the main character. In the second half of the book, Katniss was able to stay alive, and her friend had been killed. The game makers made a big change to the rules, giving Katniss a better chance of winning. There is one problem, she must not only keep herself alive, but also care for her teammate who needed major medical help.

Katniss and her lover, Peeta, make many plans to destroy the others’ supplies, and let them fight each other before they make their move. They manage to fight off everyone else, mainly by strategic techniques, and have trouble fighting the last player, Cato, as the game makers’ mutants attack them.

All in all, it was a very exciting book, and the best one I’ve ever read, so I would strongly suggest it to anyone who likes a mix between action and love. It was a little cliffhanging, leaving me wondering if Katniss and Peeta are really in love, which I believe but am not one hundred percent sure.
