I chose this video because it really shows what people can do with these new Lego Mindstorms. These robots have really been a big step up from the robots we had last year. In this video, an NXT robot uses a light sensor to tell the differences between all the six colors on the Rubik’s Cube. Then the light sensor tells this arm to flip and hold the cube. When the arm holds the cube, something on the bottom of the cube spins while the arm holds it in place. This video is also scary though too, because really not that many people can even solve a Rubik’s Cube and yet we already have robots that can.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I think a war can be avoided, but it is not very likely. In the battle many soldiers on both sides died, but more soldiers of the British died in the end. This will just make the King more angry, causing there to be a less chance of avoiding a war. After all, even if this didn’t happen, we would still be taxed so eventually something had to happen. I think if there were one more battle that it would be impossible to avoid a war. But because only one battle happened, it is possible. Right now, to prevent a war someone like the King will have to make some big changes. They would have to find some other way to pay off that debt that they still owe from the Seven Years’ War. So, in conclusion, I think that a war is probably coming right our way.

This time when we went to the vernal pool the soil was loose, but not as loose as it was in February. It is kind of hard to see how the erosion has changed because of the snow. But the catch basin at the top of the hill was even higher than it was last time! We now think that it is definitely clogged and because it hasn’t even drained at all yet. I also think that maybe the snow causes a bit of erosion. The potash of the water in the storm drain by the pool  was 0, (don’t ask me how we got the water) which is not normal, (the average potash is 2) which means that the soil is loose, which might cause some erosion. I don’t really know that much about potash and pH and all that stuff but I do know that if the potash is 0, it is not good. I think that we can prevent the water from being potash 0, so that there will not be as much erosion at the vernal pool. But I don’t think that the storm drain is the main problem. I think the main problem is the clogged catch basin at the top of the hill. If we or someone else doesn’t unclog it, then the hill at the vernal pool will turn into nothing but a mound of dirt. Our theory is that when it rains, the catch basin gets overflowed and it has nowhere else to go other than down the hill. The water in there can’t be any good, so it may be putting some horrible chemicals into the vernal pool. I think that is the main problem to the erosion on the hill at the vernal pool.

I think I would describe Cecilius Calvert as a very wealthy man. He was the second Lord Baltimore for 42 years. I thought that was a very long time. He was a Catholic, so he continued the legacy of his father by promoting religious tolerance in Maryland, even though Maryland was officially Catholic. Cecilius Calvert’s son, Charles Calvert, was third Lord Baltimore and had that title for 15 years. Cecilius I think was the least successful of the three lords, because his time as Lord Baltimore was only for three years. That is how I would describe Cecilius Calvert.
