This is “The NXT Blues”
I chose this because I thought this was such a interesting thing to do with the robots. The movie my start out slow, but don’t let that fool you because it gets a lot more interesting. These people used probably around fifteen NXT brains and a lot of lego pieces to create a jazz band that can play one song. The robots can play the piano and the guitar, and the xylophone. This is what I think is robotics to the max. It shows that even when we think robots can’t do this or that, they always find a way to figure it out. The programming to make that one song probably took months and would take a whole team of people who were very smart. That is why I chose this video.
For math, I chose my last CML which shows that there is always room for improvement. Sometimes in math I get confused about problems. I thought that I had gotten problem 4 right at the time. But it turns out I got it wrong. I thought that the hospital was 220 ft shorter than the apartment building, not taller. On certain questions I read the problem right, but when I go to do the problem, I think it’s something different, like this problem. But it shows with the other problems that I am a pretty good math student. That is why I chose this piece.
The note I chose for evernote reading was To 27 Nathan winter cam. I chose this note because it shows how much I can put down when I pay attention. Even though I know it doesn’t look like much, but every one of those feelings and such I had the character had to feel, I had to notice, and write down. And in most books, if you only read about 15 pages, you won’t find a lot of feelings. So this shows how much I can obtain in a only about 15 pages.
For writing I chose My The Adventure of Talia the Turtle Part One . The reason I chose this piece was because it really proves that I like writing, and that I like to write on my free time. That shows me that I can write long pieces and use adjectives and such. This shows how I write because this is like any of my other stories. Whenever I write stories, I write them just like this. That is why I chose this and how it shows me as a writer.
For Science I chose DPC. In this unit I learned a lot about erosion, animals, and vernal pools. I also learned more about comparing graphs and data. Specifically I learned all about conductivity and how it effects the environment. I selected this because I really felt engaged with DPC and felt like I was actually doing work.
The Social Studies unit that was most meaningful to me was the exploration one. In this unit learned about a lot of explorers and voyages. By the end of the unit, I felt like my brain was jammed pack with all the explorers names, where they were from, and where they explored. I chose this unit because I liked it the most, even though I didn’t like it too much.
This year, I think I have really grown as a writer. I think my writing has become better and longer. I am proud of this because I really enjoy writing.
I think I can still improve on not talking as much because I think sometimes I talk to much. Sometimes once in a while I will talk a ton. I think that I should work on this.
Dear John,
To answer your former question about if a war can be avoided, I would have to answer no. Many colonists are very angry at England by taxing them without them having proper representation. I even went against some of these angry colonists. My general told them to lower their guns, they didn’t even flinch. Many of the colonists have strong feelings against England, and I fear they are willing to die just because their hatred for England. Seven or eight colonists even did die or get injured. There is almost no way there wouldn’t be a war. Unless England didn’t interfere with the colonists at all, which we all know won’t happen, will there be a chance of no war. But the king will be furious at the colonists after this affair. Every option that I can think of leads to war. The only question is when. If it already started, than it is bound to happen soon. Everyday it could spark, it only takes a group of colonists.
Sincerely
Jeremy Lister
Slowly I trudged through the icky mud to the swamp. Gingerly, I dipped my foot into the swamp, to test its temperature. Ahhhhh, nice and warm. Just the way I like it, then I plunged into the water. Warm, muddy water surrounded me, as I slowly swam through the murky water. Within a few minutes, I was at my usual basking spot. Clumsily, I trudged out of the water, and on to my favorite rock. What a perfect day, nothing could go wrong. Then I curled up in a ball (well, I didn’t curl up in a ball, more of I curled as close to a ball as I could,) and drifted away to sleep. Being disturbed by some birds, I rudely awaked from my nice nap. “Stupid birds,” I yelled. Those birds always awake me from my various naps. Day, or night. I always here there tweeting. Some people may call it beautiful, I just think it’s annoying someone asking you a question all day that you don’t want to answer. It feels like I can’t even sleep for a couple of hours without those pests waking me up. After getting over my rude awakening, I tried to go back to sleep. None of my attempts worked. Some type of bird always would wake me up after just a few minutes of sleeping. It was almost as if the birds were teasing me. When I went asleep they would wake me up, and when I wasn’t asleep, they would stay quiet. Finally, after many attempts of sleeping again, I dealt with the fact I just couldn’t fall asleep with these pesky birds. After not being able to do my nap, I decided to bask. It about noon, the perfect time for basking. Slowly, I walked over to a smooth, clean rock, laid down, and did nothing. Ahhh, basking, the closest thing to sleeping. With the sun up really high, I felt like I was warm and fuzzy inside. With that warm fuzzy feeling inside, I just laid there for a while, basking in the sun. After about two hours of just laying in the sun, I decided to take a little swim. Clumsily, I got up, walked over to the tip of the rock, and jumped in (well, not really, more of just went in). Swimming in the mucky water, I saw a skunk. Watching the skunk walk by, I couldn’t help to yell, “Ha, you stupid skunk, afraid of the water huh. Well to bad for you, can’t eat me today.” That made the skunk angry. Even though I was bursting out laughing, I couldn’t help but look at the skunk and notice how mad he was becoming.
Right now, if he was air plane, he would be souring at the speed of light. Suddenly, the angry skunk jumped into the water. ”What the?” I had never thought that a skunk could swim, but it was certainly swimming, but not too fast. By the time it was half way, I was already gone from where I was and was pretty faraway from him. When I came up to the swamps edge, I quickly climbed on land. Even though the skunk had the advantage on land, it was stuck in some weeds and such. Thinking, what a stupid skunk, you can’t catch a turtle in the water, I turned around to see where the skunk was again, when I looked in the spot the skunk was, I saw nothing. Only the weeds and such it had to swim across. When I looked around, I still couldn’t find it. Suddenly, from the bushes, a rustling happened. Quickly, I panicked and raced toward the water, but before I could get there, the skunk popped out from the bushes and tackled me away from the water! Then the skunk overpowered my weak arms, and opened his mouth up wide, and went for my neck.
Right as he was going to chomp off my poor head, I jerked my head away from the skunk. After the attempt with its teeth, it tried using its claws to break my neck. Stupidly, he also let go of my by using trying to use them to split my head from its body, and I hit him once hard, in the face. Being dazed from the punch to the face, I took advantage of this moment by making a run for it. My first idea to run would have been the swamp, but the skunk was blocking the way, so I just darted in the direction farthest away from the pesky skunk. Even though I was never any good at running, I probably set the world record for the fastest turtle ever. I ran as fast as the wind and faster. By the time the skunk had actually got over that I punched him in the face, I was already over a hill, and in camouflage. For a while the skunk looked for me, but then gave up, due to the fact that he couldn’t find me. Once he was long gone, I decided it was safe. After that adventure, it was actually quite dark. Thinking that I knew the direction of the swamp, I started walking. When I had been walking for over a half an hour, I knew I had gone in the wrong direction. Then I tried to go back to my former spot, and I became even more lost. Right now, I had no idea where I was, and I couldn’t even see. Knowing the fact I wouldn’t be able to go home until it was day, I found a little patch of soft grass, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
