Do you dream of marrying a prince someday? You would enjoy this fantasy book, The Princess Test. I enjoyed it because I love fantasy books. This book is about a girl named Lorelei. She lived in a cottage by the woods. Lorelei could get hurt very easily. Lorelei had a very nice mother named Gussie, who treated her like a princess, but she died. So Lorelei’s father had to get a babysitter. The babysitters name was Trudy. Trudy was a nasty babysitter. She was trying to kill Lorelei. She made Lorelei do many chores. She made her work on the spinning wheel. A needle stuck into Lorelei’s hand when she was spinning the wool and she left her to die. Next, Trudy left Lorelei out in the woods when they went for a picnic. She was lost and scared. Lorelei found a castle in the woods and went into it to get out of the rain. In the castle, lived a prince and his parents, the king and queen. They gave Lorelei the Princess Test to see if she was truly a princess. First, she had to notice that the clothes given to her did not match, Next, she had to find a noodle placed in a salad. Then , they made her sleep on many cushions. Under the cushions was a pea. If she felt the pea, she passed the test. If she didn’t , she could not marry the prince. Will Lorlei pass the test or not?
I think you should read this book if you are between 7-13 years old. I think only girls should read this book because it’s girly. If you like princesses, read this book.
