My Nana is my Grandmother. She is my fathers Mother. My Nana has two houses. One is a farm house next door to my family. I can go visit her anytime when she is in town.  When I visit her she gives me a lollipop. During the winter my Nana goes to her house in Florida. I usually visit her in Florida on my school break.  Nana has a pool and a hot tub at her home in Florida.  I love it there!  She also has a dock at her home and my Dad and I fish off it.  The whole week I was in Florida this winter we fished two hours a day and we only caught one fish the whole week.  Fun but disappointing!  The fish we caught is called a sheepshead.

Yesterday I received a new lacrosse head in the mail. The head is the plastic part. It is called the Brine Clutch. It throws really well but it is hard to scoop up ground balls. The reason I got the new head is because my old head was worn out and bending to one side. The reason I was able to buy a new head this season is because my Nana sent me money for my birthday. Thanks Nana!

The Lowell Mills is one of the very few mills left standing although it is no longer making textiles. The reason the Lowell mills was important in the past is because it provided provided so many jobs. All those jobs were appealing to many farm girls in the state of Massachusetts. But don’t think that working at the mill was an easy life. Many of the girls got sick, hurt, or even died under the working conditions! Mill owners provided places for workers to live, sleep, and eat. They were called boarding houses. There were about thirty girls in each boarding house. There were often four or five girls to a room and they had to share a bed with two or three other roommates. Each girl was docked money from their weekly paycheck to cover boarding expenses. The reason The Lowell Mills is important today is because it teaches us about what life was like in the past.

I know a lot of you have herd of the game Minecraft. Well all of you know that some people in our class don’t like it and some love it. I think its AWESOME because the game  makes you really have to think about what you are crafting or what you’re mining or even what you’re fighting.
