Are you ready to start blogging? I really wasn’t sure what I thought about blogging at first. I remember it seeming a little scary to think that anyone in the world could see my writing. I also thought that the word blog was a nonsense word and I thought that it was a silly name for a homework assignment that Mr. Gagnon made up.

Are you ready to step into an awesome year? The reason that I used the word awesome is because Mr. Gagnon is awesome and I am sure ( I mean absolutely sure ) that you will absolutely love having Mr. Gagnon as one of your teachers.

Are you ready to be a fourth grader? Fourth grade is an amazing year–I could name a thousand reasons why! OK, maybe not a thousand, but you get my point. I was going to name one but I can’t choose which!

Here are some tips that helped me a lot  last year:

#1. Have an editor! Your Mom, Dad, or older sibling might make a great editor. Right before you submit your post ask them to edit your post. They can check it over to catch any (or most) mistakes that you might have missed!

#2. Read your post out loud several times as a way of self -editing. Before calling the editor, read it out loud to yourself many times. You’ll catch an amazing amount of silly mistakes that you will miss if you read it silently because your brain fixes the mistakes without you noticing!

#3. Last but not least, use the spell check! Another tip for self-editing is to left click on the small box above your writing that shows ABC above a check mark, then click on the underlined words and choose the spelling that looks best!

Good luck Blogging!                                                                                                               Bye for now!
