Miss Peregrine’s home for Peculiar Children.

Summary

So in the beginning there is this 16 year old boy named Jacob and ever since he was young his crazy Grandpa would tell him these crazy stories about these monsters that killed his family and he had always defended against them he would tell Jacob. Grandpa Portman (that’s his last name his first name is Abraham but people call him Abe).
also showed Jacob these Peculiar photos of these kids like you and me. They involved a floating little girl, an Invisible boy, a really strong guy holding a boulder, and a man with two faces. So Jacob like any other little boy would Jacob like any other little boy would believe stories like that but as Jacob grew older he began to disbelieve Grandpa Portman’s stories. So one day Jacob’s at work trying to get fired when his Grandpa calls and asked him where his gun cabinet keys are and Jacob know his dad hid them so Jacob tells his Grandpa everything’s okay but Grandpa Portman starts cussing away looking for his keys saying that the monsters found him and they are going to kill him.
So Jacob goes home with his friend Ricky who gives him a ride home and they run into a field near there yard and they find his Grandpa lying in the field with blood all over him and Jacob starts to cry so he asks his dying Grandpa what happened and his Grandpa reply’s saying the monsters had attacked him and stuff like that but his Grandpa was desperate to save Jacob so his last words: Go to the island find the loop, find the bird past the old man’s grave and that was it the mighty Grandpa Portman had died.       
So Jacob goes to the island and solves the mystery and finds the house of the Peculiar children and other stuff happen.

Review:

The book is a mystery kind of a spooky read. Looking back at the beginning I thought the book was going to be boring but I kept reading and it just kept getting better and better. I would recommend this book to a mature 5^th or 6^th grader or teenagers 14 and up.

My favorite part:

When Jacob is in the house and he finds Emma’s ( A peculiar child that controls fire) trunk of secret girl stuff that says not to open and it’s to tempting for him not to open it so he does just that. So he’s looking through all the letters that she sent Abe when he went to the war and he then see’s that Abe began to write less to her and Emma sends one last letter asking why he hasn’t wrote to her in a while and he sends her his last letter replying to what she asked and this is what it says: It has a picture of

Abe’s new baby and the letter only says: This is why. Did I mention that Abe and Emma were sweethearts but then Abe left so now Jacob gets to be Emma’s sweetheart. Oh young love even though they live in a loop which you never age in, so Emma’s really like 80 years older than him. I can’t show a picture but Abe is holding Jacob’s dad A.K.A. his son.

I read the book My Rotten Life. In it nathan gets a lot of hurt feelings so his friend gives him this medicine called hurt-be-gone but instead of the ingredien corpus it’s corpse. So nathan has become a half-dead zombie! He and his friends make an antidote for him it works but something happens.
To find out you’ll have to read the book. I loved cause it is hilarious

I am reading the book My Brother Sam is Dead in my literature circle. Sam has not died yet but I am about half way through the book. It is about the revolutionary war. Sam has joined the Rebels while the Dad is loyal to the King. It has some action it’s also kinda sad. It talks about how the father and Sam get in fights.The father will sometimes hit Sam but the book is really interesting knowing me liking war.

The son of Neptune is roman for Posiedon or known as Posiedon in greek words. I am reading The Son of Neptune a story of a greek demigod who gets switched with a roman demigod and go on these crazy adventures called “prophecy’s”. The first book is about Jason the roman demigod. I have read the second book The Son of Neptune. A book about Percy Jackson a greek demigod. The two are switched to unite the two camps so they can work together to save the world.
I think you should read this book cause it has a lot of action romance and it’s hilarious!
