How to steal a dog

Author: Barbara O’Connor

By: Thy Nguyen

______________________________________________

Characters: Georgia, Toby, mom, Luanne

Settings: The setting is mostly in their car and the old dusty house that the family used to live in.

The story begins with:  Georgia had a plan to steal a dog because her dad left her, her brother, Toby, and their mom behind. Their dad left them behind and took all of the stuff in the apartment. Georgia had to steal a dog for $ for an apartment or a house for them to live in instead of a car.

The events in the story are:

1. Georgia decides to steal a dog for $ to find a place for her, Toby, her mom to live in. Her and Toby was looking for a dog to steal in town. They finally found a dog in a big house and the owner really loves the dog.

2. Her mom found a really old house to live in. Georgia and Toby didn’t really liked it so they decided to live in the car again. Georgia decides to leave Willy, the dog, to live in that old house. Her mom got a job at a coffee shop and she brings back food everyday so now Georgia would have food to bring to Willy.

3. Georgia feels bad for Willy to live in that old nasty house, so she decides to tell Carmella, Willy’s owner, the truth about what happened to Willy but, before she even did Willy was already at the back door waiting to come in. Sad for Georgia she didn’t get any money from Carmella. Lucky for her, when she came back to the car, her mom said she found a house that they can live in. Georgia was so happy that she don’t have to live in the car anymore and she can have her life back as normal and be a normal girl.

I learned that- Stealing a dog is not the best way to get $$$.

I really liked- When Georgia decides to tell Carmella the truth.

I didn’t like when- Sometimes Georgia just decides to quit on try to steal a dog but, she just had to for money for a place to live in.

I wonder- If their mom will ever know anything happened with stealing the dog?

I would/would not recommend this book because- I would recommend this book to anybody because it’s a REALLY good book, I have to say.

The book I got on Mr.Boyer’s shelf is called “the trouble with half a moon.” I got started and I got to chapter 3. So far I am REALLY enjoying it and want to finish it ALL. So far it’s about in the middle of the night there was a LOUD sound. It woke up almost the whole apartments, the dad in the family decided to go outside and check to see what happened. The girl, Delilah, but her friends call her Dellie anyways her and her mom was so frighten about the dad going outside because they were scared that it might be was a gunshot. Actually when the dad got back he said “Someone fired a gun into one of the doors on the first floor, but, thank God, no on was hurt. We can all go back to sleep now.”

On the next day while Dellie’s parents were out to somewhere there was a soft knock and a small voice “Do you have a piece of bread for me?” she thought it was her friend, Kayla, but she said “Kayla would never knock that soft.” Her dad tell her when someone knocks on the door check the peephole before opening the door. She knew it was Corey, the boy that asks for food from all the apartments. Dellie made Peanut butter & jelly sandwhich for her and Corey. That was where I left off.

I bought this book it’s called Love, Aubrey. I got started on it right away and so far it seems like a pretty good book. It’s about a girl named Aubrey and her mom had left the house without her knowing. But, good for her that her grandma came for a visit but then Aubrey told her about her mom. Aubrey and her grandma was calling the police and was putting up signs to find her mom… but after all NOBODY did :( So now Aubrey just have to stay like how her life is. Her grandma had decided to enroll Aubrey to a new school. Her grandma was deciding to give Aubrey a chore list EVERYDAY. When Aubrey came outside to hang the clothes on the clothesline She saw a girl that was just about like her. Her name was Briget, she was Aubrey’s neighbor. When Aubrey enrolled for the school she had some trouble with the principal. That’s how much I got so far on that book. Sorry but it had been a good book so far and I had stop reading about 1 month. I remembered when I enrolled for alot of new schools like Schilling, Heusner. Sometimes I feel shy to be a new kid but, u get use after it.
