Home of the Brave by Cathrine Applegate is about an African kid that get separated from his mom and goes to America. He meets this guy that shows the kid around and they become friends. There are funny things that happen like the kid thinks that the washing machine is the dishwasher so he puts the dishes in the washing machine and they break. I would give this book a 10 because some kids get separated from their moms in real life, too.

    I read this book and loved it! I love how it’s written like a poem and how the author uses funny words to describe object or things the boy hasn’t seen before, like airplanes, snow, etc.

    I remember reading this in reading class…we liked this book!! I liked it too! I think it’s the best book. And sometimes there are sad things.

    I liked this book as well. It is also a pretty quick book to read.
