Data Engineer

We’re solving tough problems in education, and we want you on the team. As a data engineer with Kidblog, you’ll dig deep into our massive dataset to tackle challenges related to assessment, predictive modeling, academic interventions, and formal research – providing actionable information to teachers, students, and parents to increase student achievement.

You should have:

Experience developing web apps
Deep understanding of MySQL optimization and relational database design
Experience with document databases (e.g. ElasticSearch)
Ability to design algorithms to model complex systems
Computer science or mathematics degree, or equivalent experience

You get bonus points for:

Experience with Git source control workflow
Managing distributed databases in the Cloud
K-12 industry or teaching experience

You’re willing to:

Learn anything
Attend local meetups and user groups
Defend (and occasionally change) your opinions
