Many of the people do not believe the things I have written in my book.  Even though they are true, I hope that the people will soon know that it is true.  In 1294 my friend, Kublai Khan, died.

My father and I spent 5 years trying to get to China.  When we finally got to China we met the emperor Kublai Khan.  Khan was a very nice man.  He likes me very much.  I also became to like him too.

My father and I set off for Acre.  There was no pope in the land at that time, but later Gregory II became the new pope.  He could not get 100 missionaries for Kublai Khan’s request.  Instead he only found 2 that were willing to go.

My father and I went on a ship to China instead of land.  During the Middle Ages traveling by land was very hard.  Robbers could come out and attack you.  Well….. now I know why the men for Khan’s request turned back.

I met my father yesterday!  I am 15 and JUST met my father!  My father’s name is Niccolo.  He is an explorer, and some day,  I think  I’ll explore with him! He is about to go to China and I’m hoping that I could go with him!
