After we beat the Aztecs, their riches were sent back to Spain. I was appointed governor of our colony New Spain. I soon fell out of royalty. I returned home, and that was the end of my journeys.

We entered the city and the king, Moctezuma, welcomed us. He let us into his palace. One day we attacked them. I brutally killed Moctezuma and claimed Mexico for Spain.

After we had landed we stayed where we were for one night. Then we started going inland. We finally find Tenochtitlan. We did not enter the city yet.

It didn’t take us too long to get to the Yucatan Peninsula. We started going south to find a place to anchor. Just when I wasn’t expecting it, the Tabascans attacked us. Our men loaded the cannons, and we watched in awe as dozens of Indians dropped to the ground, dead. We beat them easily and landed safely.

In 1519 I was in Cuba, raising livestock. This was also the year I was asked to explore Mexico. I started gathering supplies and a crew.
