July 1540 me and my advanced party of Spanish Cavalry. encountered the Zuni, Pueblo, and  Hawikuh. They already had some experience with the Spanish. I arrived at the Pueblo during the highpoint of Summer ceremonies. When I came back from my voyage. I brought back no gold. I was a disappointment to Mexico. The viceroy banded my governorship.

I am the first European to explore North America’s Southwest. I traveled through what is now North Mexico and the southwestern U.S.A. This included Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.  It was very long and tiring  journey.

When I came to Mexico, I was twenty five. Why?  Well, I was an assistant to New Spain’s first viceroy. But I wanted so much more.
