What have you learned this year in math?

This year, I have learned division in math. An example  is 10 divided by 5 = 2. How we do it is we split 10 in fives. The answer is 2.  Division is easy.

Can your students tell me about some good math games that I can use with my students in Winooski?

Dear Ms. Kirsten,

I can tell you about a good math game for your students to play. My favorite game is Count and Compare Money. How we play is you pick a card. The cards have dollars and coins. You count your money. You compare amounts to see who has more. Then, you spin to see who will win. If you spin more, and you have more on your card, then you get to take your partner’s card. This game teaches you about money. It is fun!

What did you  learn in math this week?

This week in math, I learned subtraction and addition. I learned to play Anything but 5. You roll the dice and add them together. If you roll a 5, your turn is over. You can roll the dice again if you don’t get 5. You subtract the total from 95. It is fun. Math rocks.

Do video games help you understand math better?

Some  video  games help me learn math. Subtraction games help me get fast. Fight games do not help me learn math. They just teach me learn how to fight. Many games are not good for people.

Is math your favorite subject? Why or why not?

Math is my favorite subject. Math helps me and it helps people around the world. I like math because it helps  people be smart. Math it easy for me. Math is good.
