This year, we have experimented with adding music and drama to learn math. How has adding music and drama helped your learning?

Remember to write a well-constructed paragraph with a controlling idea, three details and a conclusion.

I hear a lot of students tell me that math is difficult. Some think it is easy. Think back on this year. What have you learned this year in math? What is easy? What is hard? Create a well-constructed paragraph with supporting details!

What a week! We looked again at word problems through worksheets and acting. And now we are looking at MUSIC!

We have a chorus, and now we need verses. We will record and post this rap to our blog next week. Here is the chorus:

Subtract!

Take away! Compare!

Subtract!

Take away! Compare!

Take the smaller number from the bigger number.

Subtract!

Take away! Compare!

And here is my verse. Can you add yours?

Roman and I were walking down the street.

We wanted to buy something to eat.

I had $5 and he had 2.

Who had more? What should you do?

Subtract!

Take away! Compare!…

Hello, math bloggers! My friend Kirsten read your posts and wanted to ask you this question:

Hi, Ms. Beth! Your blog is great and your students say some smart things. I learned that video games are a great way for students to learn math. Can your students tell me about some good math games that I can use with my students in Winooski?

So are you up to the challenge? Can you think of some good math games my friend could play with her students in Winooski?

Don’t forget to write a well-organized paragraph!

Hello, bloggers!

I saw students putting a lot of thought into their blogs last week! You have been doing some really amazing stuff!

This week, I want to see what you think is important. So here is your prompt:

What did you learn this week in math?
