Phantoms in the Snow is about a boy named Noah Garret.  One day both of his parents die from smallpox and he is forced to live with his uncle. Theres one little problem.  Hes fifteen and its 1944 and WWII is at stake.  Noah  learns to shoot weapons skis to live with his uncle at a fort base in Colorado.  The whole base thinks hes sixteen not fifteen and hes a pacifist and so were his parents.  Later on he goes to Italy to join the war effort with his uncle.

Id rate this book a 10 out of 10 because of the adventure, drama, and the way the author wrote the book.  I’d rccommend this book for anyone who likes a good book or some action every once and a while.  Don’t forget to read Phantoms in the Snow by Kathleen Benner Duble.

The Sea of Monsters is the second Percy Jackson book.  Sea of Monsters is about Grover when he has to get married to a cyclops because the cyclops thinks Grover is a girl cyclops. Then Annabeth, Percy, and Tyson (Percy’s brother) go to help him.  Percy knows Grover needs help badly, but when he can’t go on quest Clarisse does.  So Percy gets a little help by a god (I am not going to name the god.)  So he escapes and well you read the book yourself to find out.

I would rate this this book a 10 out of 10 because of the action and adventure but don’t forget the mythology.  If you like myths and a great adventure, read the book maybe even the series.  Don’t forget to read The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.

The Ladder

By James Stevenson

The ladder leaning against the barn

Is like the man who used to use it :

Strong at the beginning ,

Ok in the middle,

A few rungs missing at the end.

Sweet Corn is where I found this poem.  I picked this poem because I liked how it said strong at the beginning ok in the middle a few rungs missing at the end describing the ladder in form. This poem is a free verse and I believe that he wanted to talk about a ladder with a few rungs missing at the end because maybe he was driving and saw a wooden ladder strong at the beginning, ok in the middle, and  a few rungs missing at the end.

The Sword Thief is an awesome adventure book by Peter Lerangis . It is about Amy and Dan Cahill in their third book in the race to find 39 clues across the globe against their rivals, the Kobras in Japan . They can trust no one and I mean no one except their uncle Alistair but the clue they are all looking for is said to be lurking with uncle Alistair . They might make a mistake and trust him or maybe not. Well you should read this book to know what I mean .

On a scale to 1 to 10, I’ll give it a 7 because its slow in the beginning but its goes faster with amusement and action in the mid beginning . I’d recommend this book to a person who like mystery and adventure books together, so read 39 Clues: The Sword Thief.

The Fighting Ground is a perfect book if you like to read historical fiction. The book is about a boy back in the 1700′s.  Johnathan is his name and he wants to be in the army, but his mom and dad wont let him. When he gets  there, he’s got a bigger problem.  Read The Fighting Ground by Avi to see what I mean.

I would rate this awesome  book with a 9 out of 10 because it is a good book about a boy in then revolutionary war . If you like war books, read it.  I know I will .
