No talking is realistic fiction.  It is about a boy and a girl named Dave and Lindsey who are having a contest with all the other boys and girls to see who can be the quietest for two days.  They have a rule of saying three words in a sentence.  Some of the boys and girls mess up and say more than 4 words, up to 23 words, when they mess up.  In the end, Dave and Lindsey have a tie of winning and they are sorry for saying that boys talk more than girls/girls talk more than boys.  That is what the book is about.

If I had to rate this book 1-10, I’d rate it a 10.  It sounded real because boys and girls fight over things and have contests.  I would like to start a no talking for two days straight contest between girls and boys in my 5th grade classes.

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate Dicamillo is about a mouse named Despereaux who wants to prove that he can do more things than just be a mouse like read, listen to music, and be in love with princess Pea. There is also a rat named Roscuro who spends most of his life in the darkness of the dungeons under the castle or killing the queen by falling in her soup. Soon Despereaux and Roscuro meet and go on a quest to save the princess Pea from Miggery who is jealous because she is not princess. Miggery stops hurting the princess when she finds her father who traded her into service for a tablecloth.  At the end of the story Despereaux and princess Pea fall in love, Miggery and her father live happily, and Roscuro lives a new bright life.

If I had to rate this book 1-10, I would rat it a 10 because I liked everything about it, nothing was boring, and I thought it was nice when Despereaux fell in love with princess Pea. Thanks for reading my blog!!

Who Would Win: Lions vs Tigers by Jerry Pallotta, published in 2009, is about lion’s and tiger’s abilities, like running up to 50 mph.  Also, its about the lions’ and tigers’ claws and teeth; such as how big they are and how strong they are.  The book also shows how cute the lion’s and tiger’s babies are.  One thing that I liked about the book is that lions live in a pride that has three males, fifteen lionesses, and two dozen cubs. That’s what the book is about.

Three things that I learned are that lion’s are 550 pounds and 8 feet long.  Plus I learned that tiger’s are 600 pounds and 10 feet long.  I also learned that lion’s constantly have to fight other lion’s to be the leader.

I liked this book because I like to read about lions and tigers. Yes, I would recommend this book to others because I liked it a lot.  If I had to rate this book 1-10, I would rate it a 10 because it told fun facts and cool things.  The type of person that I think would like this book is someone who likes lions and tigers.

Pecos Bill by Steven Kellogg is about a boy named Pecos who is finding a new place to settle with his family. But when they are crossing the Pecos river, Pecos gets pulled overboard by a giant trout.  He travels down the river until a mother coyote saves him.  Pecos gets accepted to the pack and learns how to do coyote things. But one day when Pecos is sleeping, a traveler named chuck comes by and sees him.  He asks what Pecos was doing sleeping outside behind a rock.  Pecos tried to tell him that he was a coyote but Chuck said lets go turn the Hells Gulch Gang respectful.  When they were on there way, they bumped into a giant rattlesnake. The rattlesnake strikes but Pecos strikes back and squeezed every last drop of venom out of it.  Then Pecos bumped into another critter that was part grizzly, part puma, part gorilla, and part tarantula.  They fought so long that the monster had to give up. The Hell’s Gulch Gang was watching the whole time and were amazed that Pecos fought them and was still alive.  He became the new leader of the gang and taught them how to rope cattle. Pecos needed a horse to ride for the coming up round up, so he went to get lightning the fastest strongest horse around. When he got lightning, he rounded up all the cattle around.

If I had to rate this book in stars 1-10, I would pick 10 because I love Texas, cowboys, and adventures.

Electric Storm by Anne Capeci is about a teacher named Miss Frizzle and her classmates that wishes it wood rain. So Miss Frizzle took her students onto her bus and shrunk them. Then they went up to the clouds and learned about electrons. When they were done learning it started to rain and they went back to their classroom.

If I had to rate this book 1-10 in stars I would rate it 4 stars because I love science fiction books. Plus because magic school house books are really cool to me. The reason I wouldn’t rate it a 5 stars is because I don’t like cartoon characters.
