The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg is an historical fiction book written by Rodman Philbrick.  It was published by Blue Sky Press in 2009 in the Civil War.  It’s about Homer P. Figg and his older brother Harold.  Squint is the one who looks over them he threw some bread with the slops.  He catches Homer eating the bread that was for the hogs that he has.  Then somebody sold Harold to the army.  So Homer goes looking for him.

I learned some very interesting facts about Homer P. Figg that I did know before I read this book.  When someone is mean to you and they only give bread to hogs they don’t like you.  When Bob the horse doesn’t get enough sleep they would want to go back.  Homer is not gonna stop looking until he finds Harold.  Some guy named Stinky found Homer in the woods and cuffed him and took him were they lived.

On a scale from 1-10, I would give it a 8.  This book was easy to read and to understand and is for any one who likes people fighting and Homer goes on adventures to find his brother.  If you like people who fight and Homer goes on adventures is the book for you.

The Door To Time was written by Ulysses Moore and is a fantasy book.  It was published by Scholastic Inc in 2006.  This book was about three kids named Jason,Julia, and Rick.  They found a secret door that they don’t know how to unlock.  They rode bikes down the hill to the book store to get something to open the door there was someone in there she wouldn’t give the kids what they wanted but Rick made a deal he said,”we will buy three books if you give us the package.”  She said,”yes.”

I learned some very interesting facts about this book that I did not know before I read this book.  Did you know that there was a book named Dictionary of Forgotten Languages?  It tells you all the words of languages that you have forgotten.  There was a stairway under the Argo Manor it was the stone room it was entirely made out of stone.  All the walls were engraved all four of them they had writeing on it.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give this book a 10.  This book was easy to read and to understand.  I liked the part when they were under Argo Manor they explained it in detail.  If you like mystery fantasy book this book is for you.

Garth Brooks is a biography book written by Phelan Powell.  It was published by Mitchell Lane in 2000.  This book is about Garth Brooks.  He loved music all his life.  He plays the comb when his family gets together for some music time at home.  Then he went to Nashville, the home of country music, even when he was sent away without any hope of a music contract though he decided to try again.
I learned some very interesting facts about Garth Brooks that I did not know before I read this book.  First, he met his friend Bob Doyle, a music publisher who owned Major Bob Music.  Doyle, was impressed by Garth’s talent as a guitarist and music.  Second, Garth went to The Bluebird Cafe to see and hear other promising performers onstage.  Finally, something happened to Garth.  Lynn Shults made a deal and signed Garth to a Capitol Records contract immediately.
On a scale to 1-10, I would give it a 7.  I liked this book because it had music in it, but I don’t listen to country music.  I would recommend this to who likes country music.

The Bloodhound was written by Charlotte Wilcox and it is an informational book.  It was published by Capstone Press in 2001.  It talks about the best nose in the dog world and scent hounds.  Bloodhounds are the largest of the scent hound breeds.  All hound breeds can find and follow animals by scent this type of hunting is called scent trailing.

I learned some very interesting facts about the bloodhound that I did not know before I read this book.  Did you know that most bloodhounds are 25 to 27 inches (64 to 69 centimeters) tall?  Most Bloodhounds weigh between 80 and 110 pounds (36 and 50 kilograms).  They have a great sense of smell and their skin is loose.  Did you know that bloodhounds first came from France to North America?

On a scale to 1 to 10, I would give this book an 8.  It was easy to understand and it provides a great ideal who likes dogs or own dogs.  So if you own a dog this is the book for you.

Tyrannosaurus Rex Vs. Velociraptor was written by Pallotta and this is a informational book.  It was published by Scholastic Inc in 2010.  It gave us different kinds of dinosaurs.  Some of them fly, swim in the ocean, and walk on land.  It described the parts of the dinosaurs and it described the foot, arms, tail, and head.  The T. Rex has normal teeth and eats small dinosaurs and the Velociraptor has curved teeth to trap in their teeth and eat smaller dinosaurs than the T.Rex.

I learned some interesting facts about Tyrannosaurus Rex Vs. Velociraptor that I did not know before I read this book.  Did you know that a T. Rex was 42 feet long and 13 feet high on the hips and it may have weighed 7 tons.  Then, a raptor is only 3 to 4 feet high and a raptor is taller than a third grader.  Did you know that when an asteroid hit earth sneaky dinosaurs eat dinosaur eggs before they hatched.  Finally, when larger animals have problems finding food they eat each other.

On a scale to 1-10, I would give this book a 7.  This book is easy read and it gives you were it was found in the ground and it gives you the size, weight, and how tall it is.  So if you like dinosaurs this is the book for you.
