Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins is an amazing adventure book.  This time Katniss has found out that District 1-12 (except 2 which adores the capitol) have been bombed by the capitol.  So she and her family make their way to District 13 which really does exist. But some of the remaining tributes from the Quarter Quell get captured, including Peeta.  When Peeta gets rescued they find out that he was hijacked by the capitol and thinks that Katniss is a ”mutt” made by the capitol.  Something good does turn up though,Finnick and Annie are getting married and Peeta is less likely to hurt Katniss.  Once the group of rebels (people against the capitol) start a war against the capitol it is not what they expected.  Many people lose their lives all to help one person,Katniss.

I give this book a 10-10 because it was amazing even though there was some violence involved.  I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure and longer books.  I would say read the next book in the series but this is the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy.

Catching Fire is an amazing adventure book by Suzanne Collins.  Katniss and Peeta have made it out of the arena alive and are starting their victory tour around the twelve districts.  Soon uprisings from some of the districts start coming up against the capitol and some hearing that District 13 might be real.  But life is not so easy for Katniss and Peeta. They soon have to be tributes for the Quarter Quell which is sort of like The Hunger Games but it happens every twenty-five years and that every tribute is a victor that has won a previous game (you do not have to be the ages 12-18 because an eighty year old starred in it.)  Plus Katniss and Peeta are getting ”married” and Seneca Crane is dead so Plutarch Heavensbee takes place as the ”Headmaster”.  Once in the arena, it is not what she expected.  Now she only has one choice and idea.  Keep Peeta alive.

I give this book a 10-10 because its an awesome book and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes adventure. (Warning: There is some violence.)  After this, you should read the last book in the trilogy, Mockingjay.

The Ghost Of Crutchfield Hall is a historical fiction book from the the later 1800′s and early 1900′s by Mary Downing Hahn.  Florence, an orphan, moves to Crutchfield Hall where her Aunt and Uncle live.  When she gets there her Aunt believes she is someone else but finds out she is not who she thought Florence was.  Her aunt believed she was Sophia Florence’s cousin, who died almost a year ago in a tragic accident.  She was also an orphan but when she died all that was left in her family was James, her brother who is very sick.  Right away her Aunt hates her and always compares her to Sophia, but on the other hand her Uncle loves her.  Soon Florence starts feeling Sophia then hearing then finally seeing her and talking to her.  Sophia was a mean, ungrateful, and lonely girl a year older then Florence, and also took advantage of her Aunt who adored Sophia.  But Florence is not the only one seeing Sophia.  Nellie, the housemaid, Spratt, the gardner , and James also see her.  Sophia will not leave till she shows Florence how she died except somebody will be in the spot where Sophia was in because no one can die twice.Can’t they?

I give this book an 8-10 because it was a really good book.  I recommend this to any that like books with ghosts.  Make sure you also read All The Lovely Bad Ones Also,though.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is an amazing adventure book.  It is about Katniss Everdeen from District 12 who’s father got killed in a coal mining accident when she was 11.  Now she is 16 and taking care of her sister,12 year old Primrose and her mother.  But when Prim’s name is called for The Hunger Games during the reaping, Katniss volunteers for the girl tribute and takes Prim’s place, and Peeta Mellark is the boy tribute.  The Games is a television show starring a boy and girl from each of the twelve districts,12-18 years old.  Once she leaves Katniss ” the girl on fire” finds out that Peeta has a giant crush on her, so they become the ”star crossed lovers”.  During training they get scores, Peeta an eight and Katniss an eleven, the highest score out of the twenty-four tributes.  When everyone is in the arena to start the games there is no turning back.  And there is only one winning tribute standing at the end, or is there?

I give this book a 10-10 because it was an amazing book beginning to end.  I recommend this to anyone who likes adventure (Warning: there are some violent moments.) Make sure you also read the next book Catching Fire which I am also reading.

Turtle In Paradise is a realistic fiction book by Jennifer L. Holmes is about a girl named Turtle a very hard headed girl.  When Turtle’s mom starts working for Mrs. Budnick, who doesn’t like children Turtle goes to the Key West.  When Turtle gets there it’s much different then she imagined.  Nobody wears shoes, there are scorpions everywhere, and almost everyone has a nickname like: Slow Poke, Beans, and Johnny Cakes.  But the more time Turtle spends with her Aunt Minnie and cousins she feels more at home then she ever has and less hard headed.

I give this book a 9 – 10 because it was a really good book and I never wanted to put it down.  I recommend it to anyone who likes some biography and some comedy.  Make sure you also read Middle School Is Worse Than Meatloaf also by Holmes.
