The Gruff Brother  was written by William H. Hooks and is a Traditional litierature book.

One day a snake, a duck, a bird, a fox, and three billy goats were eating grass and flowers.  And the next thing you know, the grass and flowers were gone.  They were still hungry so they had to cross the bridge to get some more.  And there was a troll under the bridge, so little Gruff went first.  And she was too small so she crossed the bridge.  Then middle Gruff went, and the troll said he was to little too.  So he crossed the bridge.  Then fiddle Gruff went and the troll said he was just right, but fiddle Gruff put his head down and knocked the troll off the bridge.   Fiddle Gruff crossed with all the others.

I like this book because it is instresting.  The title of this book got my attention.  I like the ending because no one got eaten.  I would rate this book 7 out of 10.  I would recoomend this book to my brother because he likes books like this.

The Blind Men And The Elephant is by Lillian Quigley.  In India, there were six blind men.  They lived together and they had never seen an elephant before because they were blind.  They lived near a palace and they had a Rajah.  It was the next day they went to the palace and they touched an elephant.  Their friend led them into a garden and each man shouted something and at the same time, the Rajah was awakened by the shouting.  The blind men walked out of the courtyard and walked home one behind the other and they lived happily ever after.

I like this book because it is interesting and I think it is awesome.  The title in this book got my attention.  I like the ending because they did not get hurt and they left safely.  I would rate this book 8 out of 10.  I would recommend this book to my mom because she likes to read.

I Love My Tongue

By Carolyn Beck

I plucks and picks tender blades and tasty tips.

I stuff them down with barely a chew to

Tummy One where they simmer and stew

From Tummy One they go to two, then up they come

For a good long chew.

That soggy clod.

My churning jaw.

My cud I chomp and chaw.

The book title is Butter Cup’s Lovely Day.  I chose this poem because I like farm animals and it sounds good.  This poem ryhms.

I think the author chose this book because maybe she lives on a farm.  I would recite this to my classmates because they might laugh.

Dog at the Door    by: Ben M. Baglio   Realistic Fiction

Someone lost their dog on Halloween night.  Mandy  heard something at the door and went to see  who it  was.  When she opened the door, there was a dog.  She looked for a collar but the dog didn’t have one, so she kept it.  Mandy bathed her, fed her, and made her a bed.  The next day she told James, her friend, about how she found a dog outside of her door.  James made the dog a cage and the dog liked it.

I like this book  because I like books about animals.  The title and the book cover got my attention.  It had a happy ending because she kept the dog and if she wouldn’t have, the dog could of gotten hurt or something.  I like this book because it was realistic fiction and I like these types of books.  I would rate this book 8 out of 10.  I would recommend this book to my sister Karimah because she likes animal books.  She wants to be a vet so she reads animal books all the time.  She also collects Animal Ark books.
