The Lost Colony is an informational book written by Dan Lacy. It was published by Franklin Watts Incorporated in 1972. This book tells you a lot of information, so much I couldn’t fit it in my head! It tells you things like when it was established, who established it, what ships took them to Roanoke, how the Indians helped the colonists, and it shows very very detailed pictures!

There are three interesting facts I learned that I want to tell you about. The first one is that Sir Walter Raleigh, the founder of Roanoke, almost married Queen Elizabeth but fell in love with one of her maids instead and married her. I didn’t know that until I read this awesome book! The second one is that Raleigh had a half brother. His name was Sir Humphrey Gilbert. The last one is that the Indians were said to have stolen a silver cup from one of the ships. Since they did this, Lane (I don’t know his first name and he was a leader or captain of a ship like John White) set up a trap for the Indians and killed EVERY Indian in that tribe including the leader of the tribe Wingina (I would rather not tell you the details).

On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this book a 10 because it was really interesting and some of those facts I was flabbergasted at when I read them. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes history and anyone who would like to learn more about Roanoke Island, including YOU, Mrs. Mitchell! I think you would LOVE this book!

Ruby Holler is good book written by Sharon Creech. This book is about when Flordida and these other kids find a group of other kids and Flordida and the kids try to help them with a favor. That favor is if they could get them back to boxaton and they said, yes. This book is mainly about when the kids find a boat and it’s destroyed but, then, they fix it and they put it on the water and every one gets on it. When they are on the water they actually have a couple of problems, like they run out of food. They run into obstacles.

On a scale to one to ten I would give it a seven because it was a good book but not the best. If you like realistic fiction books, this is a book for you. When you read this book you will know what I’m talking about.

The book Oceans was written by Emily Green, on Aug.1, 2006. It was published by learning life underwater. A summary of the book is that it talks about how people like to dive under the ocean and mostly look at the colorful coral. It also tells you where sharks and plants live and things, it tells you how the fish live under the water. Also the animals that live under the water can make the coral look like a rainbow.

The first interesting thing that I learned was how the fish make the colorful coral. Another interesting thing is that how the ocean get’s darker as you go farther out to the ocean and lighter as you go to the shore. The third interesting thing is that people like to go under the ocean and watch the fish swim and make the rainbow looking colored coral.

I loved the book but my favorite part of the book was how the fishes make the colored coral. I would recommend the book to others because it is very cool to read. Yes, I do know that it’s a twenty-four pages and that people will read it in a few minutes, but I liked it. On a scale from 1-10, I give it a ten! I loved the book. The person that I think that would like this book would be people that like going underwater and people that like to see fish and how the underwater life lives.

I learned that rafters have to wear a helmet in case they fall. Rafters have to rate the difficulty of a river too. The ratings are called classes. Class I and II are easy, Class III-IV are considered advanced, and Class V and VI are for expert rafters. Class VI are the most dangerous. Rafters also have to move their paddles a certain way so they can maneuver their raft through the river.

My opinion on this book is not a good one. On a scale of 1-10 , I would rate it a 2. Unfortunately, I do not like books full of facts. They are boring to me. If it was a story about a white-water rafting adventure I might have liked it better. If you like White-Water Rafting then you might like this book.

This book tells you how to care for a rabbit. It tells you what to feed them, how to keep them clean, and how to keep them healthy. It also talks about how to play with them. You would probably have to be very responsible.

Their are many interesting facts in this book like if you over feed them they will get sick, if you want your rabbit to meet other animals they would most likely be shy or scared of them. Did you know that carrots and parsley are good vegetables for them.

I would rate this book ten out of ten because it made me want to have it. I would definitely try to get people to read this because it is a good book. If you are looking for books to keep your rabbit safe, this is the book for you.

The book also describes the different breeds of sharks, such as Whale Sharks , Great White, Thresher, Hammerheads, and Goblin Sharks.

I learned lot’s of interesting facts about sharks that I did not know about sharks. First, did you know that there is over 500 breeds of sharks! People also kill sharks to use there parts to catch more fish for food, clothing, and, jewelry the other parts they just throw those parts back into the ocean. Also, some people say that sharks look like some gods. Finally, did you know that a whale shark is about 48 ft 14m that’s is two great white sharks because a great white shark is about 24 ft so if you add twenty-four plus twenty-four it will equal 48 ft.

On a scale of 1-10, I will give this book a 10. This book was interesting, easy to read, and sharks are my favorite type of water animal plus this book gave me a lot of information that I didn’t know. So if you like sharks you should get this book. This is a book for you.
