The Journey is by Kathryn Lasky and it is fantasy.This book is about four owls named Soren, Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger. They are trying to find their families so they can reunite. But first they are trying to find out where the great Ga’Hoole tree is so they can find they great owls who perform good and noble deeds at night. They will go a long way. Will one of them get hurt? Who will they meet? When will they get there?

On a scale from 1-10, I would rate it a 8 because I like this kind of fantasy book. The author gets me interested in how the book goes so I read them and they are good.

Annie Glover is Not a Tree Lover is written by Darleen Bailey Beard. Annie’s town is scheduled to have a swimming pool complex near her school. But when Annie’s Grandmother hears that they have to cut down an Elmer tree, she chains herself to it. Annie and her friends want the swimming pool, but when Annie finds out what Elmer means to her town. She joins her grandmother to save Elmer. Will they cut down Elmer? Find out in the book Annie Glover is Not a Tree Lover.

I would rate this book an 10 out of 10. If you like realistic fiction then you will love this book.

The Bungalow Mystery is a fantastic book by Carolyn Keene. This is Nancy Drew book #3. Nancy goes on a rowboat ride with a friend and the boat sinks! As soon as a new friend named Laura saves them and Nancy’s friend’s legs were numb so Nancy’s friend could not feel her legs. Later on Nancy returns to River Heights and Laura calls but gets cut off (later they realized it was Lara Pendleton). One day Nancy comes home and there she is (Laura Pendleton) and she has a story to tell. She said that they were after her mother’s jewelry that Laura had kept. Laura said that Mrs. Aborn wanted Laura’s jewelry. So Laura climbed out her suite window and escaped to River Heights. Now Nancy has a mystery to solve can you find it out?

On a scale from 1-10, I give this book a 10! It was very interesting book. Anyone who likes mysteries or Nancy Drew books this would be for them I hope you liked it.

Anne Of Avonlea

Anne Of Avonlea is a wonderful book by L. M. Montgomery. This is the second Anne Of Green Gables book from the series. Anne is back and there are many changes throughout her life. Here are three examples of Anne’s changes. The first change is with Matthew (Marilla’s husband and Annes new father) dead it is harder to take care of the farm. The second change is Marilla adopts a boy and a girl (they are twin brother and sister) there names are Davy and Dora. The last change is Anne becomes a school teacher. Anne is still herself. She is still friends with Diana and she is now very understanding. What else is it about? You have to read the book to find out.

On a scale from 1-10, I give this book a 10! This book is more interesting than Anne Of Green Gables! I say someone who likes reading about a girl growing up I in Green Gables on Prince Edward Island in Canada would love/like this book. The next one in the series is Anne Of The Island. I hope you love the book!

Riding Freedom by Pam Monoz Ryan was placed in the 1800′s. Charlotte, a girl at an all boy orphanage decided to run away when her friend Hayward gets adopted. Before she runs off she cuts her hair so she looks like a boy. When she gets off a train she finds a stable of horses where a man named Ezeebeer takes her in and makes her his stable boy. As she gets older she gets a childhood dream opportunity to become true. She always pretended to be a male even as a women.

I give this book a 10 out of 10 because it really brings the adventure out. I like this story because it was inspired by a true story. If you love history fiction books then read this one.

The Pinballs

The Pinballs by Betsy Byars is a touching story about three foster kids learning to accept themselves. Carlie who has had three stepdads finally figures out that the foster home she is at now is actually fun. Harvey who broke both his legs and was taken away from his father experiences a good time for the first time in a long while. Thomas J. who was left at the porch of a set of old twins now has a new family after they broke their hips. And now as a family, they survive being bounced around like a pinball.

I give this book a 10 out of 10 because it really moves your mood. If you like realistic touching stories then you’ll love this one.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a fantasy genre. It is about two girls (Katniss and Prim Everdeen) who are living alone. With the hunger games still going on, they head to the place were they announce it’s the boy and girl to head to the hunger games. The hunger games is a battle to the death twelve through eighteen year olds. Then Prim gets called to be at the hunger games, but Katniss doesn’t want her to die. So she volunteers to take place for her little sister to be in the hunger games. Will Katniss win the hunger games or will she lose and die if you won’t to find out read the book.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this book a 9 because. It was very interesting and had lots of action. I would recommend this book to someone who likes fighting and giving up lives.

Love You,Daddy is a book where Katie’s dad goes to a war. He dies in the process of doing this though. Katie’s mom has a baby and then marries another man who is a nice character named Sam in the middle of a blizzard.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sad books. I give it a 10 out of 10, by the way. So you should read this historical fiction book book.

The Monster in the Third Dresser Drawer is an amazing book written by Janice Lee Smith. It all started out when a boy named Adam Joshua and his parents start to move to another house. Adam Joshua gets mad because he liked his house that he has now. Like in the middle in the book Adam Joshua’s mother had a baby girl named Amanda Jane, and Adam Joshua has to share his room with her baby sister. Adam Joshua has to share his room because Adam Joshua’s parents are painting Amanda’s room and fixing it up. One night Adam Joshua was sleeping and he saw a monster come out of his third dresser drawer.

I liked this book because I thought this book was very interesting. On a scale to one to ten, I would rate it 10. I would recommend this book to others that like realistic fiction books.

Dear Ellen Bee is written by Mary E. Lyons and Muriel M. Branch. It is about a women named Miss Bet and a girl named Mary Elizabeth Van Lew (Liza). These people are Negro. Miss Bet sent Liza to Philadelphia for school. Liza met a boy named Wilson Bowser and they ended up getting married at age fourteen. They went back to Virginia to live with Clara Coleman (Miss Clara). Wilson went to Fort Monroe to work for the military. Then Miss Bet decided that Liza and her should become spies. They still wrote but called each other Ellen Bee. They also had a secret code for important things that they didn’t want other people to be able to read. The town was set on fire by the happenings outside now all they could do was pray. Then the Union won the Civil War!

I would rate this book a nine out of ten because it was very interesting with the things happening in the book. Someone who likes history might like this book.
