What I read in this book is that Jack and Annie are in California  in 1906.When Jack and Annie are looking for the special magic for King Aurthor an earthquake happened. Annie fell into a hole, Jack helps Annie get out of the hole with bricks. Jack and Annie find the bank manager taking money to the ferry because the bank is going to catch on fire.Jack and Annie see a soldier saying” get out of the road we’re blowing up the buildings with dynomite”. They hid in the alley so the didn’t get hit by rocks.After the explosions Jack and Annie went to the tree house  but a  News paper reporter took  a picture of them holding the poem for King Author.   People were leaving there homes taking all there stuff. Jack and Annie helped save books but they still caught on fire. After they helped with the books they met a family that gave them a piece of wood  that had the poem on it. From the tree house they went to Morgan Le Fays library to give King Aurthor the poem.Then Jack and Annie went home.
