on thursday we skyped and sang with a class in California, in the USA. we sang four songs: Hello Goodbye by the Beatles (chino, pipita, franchesco and me, alex), then mili.r, valen and claruchi sang “hot and cold” by the chippettes and lalo, tincho and bauti sang “who made who” by ac/dc. Later, the Californian class sang some beautiful “Christmas carols” and we sang also sang a Christmas carol in Spanish.

and when we were watching and they were  singing carols we saw a poster they made for us that said “FELIZ NAVIDAD” I felt very happy and touched, it was a very nice gesture.

This experience was fantastic, amazing.

California is on the west coast in the United States. you can see it on the map.

My country is Argentina and we have lots of traditions. One is our famous “Asado”. It is one of the most typical traditions here.We get together with friends or just with our family, and we enjoy it together.

Check out this video on our “Asado”

Other typical Argentinean thing is the TANGO. It is a very beautiful dance. One of the most important Tango singers was Carlos Gardel. He sang about love and sadness.
There is also a very important square called “PLAZA DE MAYO” it is a very historical place. You can also see the cabildo, the Cathedral and our “Casa Rosada” in “Plaza de Mayo”. In the Cathedral you can also find the remains of Jose de San Martín. He fought for many South American countries, Chile, Peru and Argentina, independence. Our May Revolution (1810) started in the cabildo and our President  works in “Casa Rosada”
and another famous wonder in argentina is the “Obelisco”

OUR  NATIONAL FLAG

MAP OF ARGENTINA REPUBLIC

In Argentina there are 23 provinces, but some people say there are 24. There are many beautiful landscapes. I recomend Iguazu waterfalls. They are so pretty and if you  have time to visit some national parks you’ll find many all around Argentina. THEY ARE AMAZING

Halloween is the celebration of horror. Many people wear costumes such as princes, werewolves, skeletons, Dracula or frightening things and  they also decorate their homes.   They also carve noses, eyes and mouth on pumpkins. These traditions are done to drive ghosts away. This is a typical US tradition,  but we also celebrate it in  Argentina. Not as much as in the US, but I do it and my friends too. I don´t know if in other countries they also  celebrate this tradition. Children visit homes and they say: “Trick or Treat?  if you don ‘t  give them candies they will do terrible things to you.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS
