When springtime comes around, I smell, see, and hear, a lot of different things. I smell food cooking on barbecues. I mostly think it’s meat, maybe vegetables. I think it’s vegetables sometimes because some people have their veggies barbied. The smell of fresh air makes me look forward to my camping trip. This makes me feel good about spring and nature.
I see dew in the morning on the grass. Dew is water-like droplets that collect overnight when the temperature gets colder. Plants use dew to help survive by supplying necessary moisture to make sugar. Sugar is food for plants which helps them survive and stay plush and green during the spring. Dew also helps flowers keep their bright, vibrant colors throughout April and May. This is why flowers are so bright through spring and summer.
On the porch, I hear all kinds of birds that live in forests or close to my home. One was a Robin, I believe. I love Robins and Chickadees. They’re just so cute. Did you know that Chickadee’s answer you when you call their names? I can also hear the sounds of children playing. The children are laughing as they play with their jumpropes. These are the sounds of spring.
