United States Bill of Rights
1. The United States Bill of Rights is a written statement that explains the basic freedoms and rights of citizens.
2. The members of the Continental Congress would not sign the Constitution until the Bill of Rights were added
3. The Bill of Rights outlines the first 10 Amendments that were added to the Constitution.
4. According to Dictionary.com amendment is defined as: a change made by correction, addition, or deletion
5. The First Amendment includes the Freedom of Speech, the Freedom of Religion, Freedom of the Press, and my favorite, the right for people to assemble peacefully.
6. The Second Amendment is the right to bear arms. This means that people can own weapons.
7. You have the right to remain silent ~ Fifth Amendment
8. Amendment Six is the right to a speedy trial
9. Bill of Rights Day is December 15
10. When the Constitution was written the Bill of Rights was not originally included because the authors took these rights for granted.
