One raining morning when waking to the cafeteria, the lights went out and nobody could see anything. It was 12:07p.m. Everybody started screaming and throwing milk, food and oranges.  My sister Kimberly, my cousins and I went under the table so none of the food would fall on us. No one could find the classroom so every single student had to stay in the cafeteria until the lights came back on. Finally the lights came back on and we went back to class.   I will never forget this memory. One day, no one will notice. The lights will go off again.

It was Saturday afternoon my family and I wanted to go to Dallas. We started to pack our luggage and we put it in the car. I started watching the Dukes of Hazard. When it was one o’clock, we had to leave. Our road trip adventure was about to unfold. It took three hours to get there. We had to cross Spring, Conroe and Willis TX too. When we were almost there, we had to do a  pit stop to eat. The restaurant was by a truck stop. The name was Texas Burger and Subway, 2 in 1. After we finished eating, we hit the road again. When we entered Dallas, it was huge. It had tall buildings. It snowed there too. We had to find a hotel.

I was ready to go to my soccer game. I was so happy and ready to score a goal. I was excited. I ate so fast. I could see me playing right then. My mom started the car so we could go to the the soccer game. When I got to the park, I started to do exercises to warm up. I was ready to win this game. I made one goal.

The school bell rung. School was out. Everybody ran out. When I got home, I played some video games on the computer. The next day, I went to my friend’s cousin house and sleep there. At night my friend and I stayed up until 3 o’clock in the morning. When we woke up, my friend and I ate some food for breakfast. Then we get ready to go to the football game at a stadium downtown.  The teams were the Colts vs the Saints. At the game, we ate some snacks and watched the Superbowl. After the Superbowl, my friend and I went back to the house and ate some more food.

Hi my name is Joseph Torres. I’m 10 years old. I go to Tinsley Elementary and I’m in Ms.Thyme’s fourth grade class. Ms.Thyme’s teaches reading, social studies, English, and writing. When we enter the classroom, she tells us to grab our binders and get our 2009 reading task. After we check over the work we go to Ms.Jordon for ancillary. I like to play soccer, video games and I’m on the Basketball team. I wear number 5. We have practice’s on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. I attend school every day and I’m a honor roll student. When I’m bored, I read books or help homeless people at my moms job. I make A’s, and B’s. I have 5 people in my family. My mom, dad, brother, sister, and me. My sister and I stay after school. My brother is at Fondren. He’s in 8th grade and he is 14 years old. My sister is in 2nd grade and she is 7 years old. When I’m done eating lunch every day, I go to the gym with my friends Kalar, Alfonzo, Terry, and Osman and shoot some hoops. Then we switch classes with Mr.Jones. He teaches math and science. When we get into the classroom we get our problem solving journal. After that’s done, I go to after school for 5 hours. After all of the fourth graders are out of there classroom, we go to Mr.Copeland first or Mrs.Jordan. If we go to Mr.Copeland, the first half we have study time then the Second half we play games like checkers, uno, and domino’s or go outside to play football. Or if we go to Ms.Jordon we do our blog for the first hour. Then the Second hour, we go to anything like poptropica, kid-zone and ed-city. Then it’s time to go home. Ms.Jordon said if you are a walker line up and sit down on the blue line. If you are an car rider go to the gym.

Yesterday, I logged off of the computer and went to find my my sister. I found her and left the school with the other kids. We walked home to Bank-side village. We got there within a few minutes and opened the door with my key. Then suddenly I smelled something good. My mom was making conch-etas, pork chops, enchiladas, macaroni and white rice. My brother was in our room playing Fifa10 on my xbox 360. I told him that our mom said time to eat. Then my dad came in  the door and he said  I’m hungry. Then he looked at the delicious food and opened his wide mouth. All of a sudden everybody dug through all the food. After an hour, the food was gone. Nobody could eat another bite. We all watch a little TV and went to sleep.

Now that is my life.

Joseph Torres
